By the end of it Jusatsushi, do you get enough points to invest in at least two skill trees? I'm currently doing both swordsmanship and magic. Or should i just stick with one?

I focussed entirely on Swordsmanship this playthrough and had it pretty much maxed by the end with my Geralt at level 32.

Did you have to rely on magic at all?

I'm still early in the game and i'm finding i have to use the shield, and the stun magic if i don't want to be overwhelmed.

Magic is pretty vital, you'll probably be using it most battles.

Yeah, even though I put all my points in swords, I still used potions and magic a lot. *spams Quen*

Ah so the minimum magic still works well then. Cool.

This bloody patch is terrible. I can no longer select my abilities with the analog stick and it has terrible pop in.

I'm enjoying this alot, storywise but man the difficulty is so all over the place, at the start of the game I had to put it on easy, it was just too hard to start off, stupid help boxes appearing right in the midst of battle, like you have any time to read them while a dragon is lighting you on fire.

I'm stuck on that tentacle monster in Flotsam, I know you have to use the trap magic but damn, one or two hits and your dead, what lvl were some of you around this boss fight, think i'm only level 6, maybe I need to grind some xp or something.

I was probably level 8 when i defeated that. Hes really easy once you work out how to do it. The boss at the end of this chapter is the one you really need to prepare for.

The difficulty for this game is rather steep, especially at the start.

Early doors I was reminded very much of Demon's Souls...that kind of difficulty, and imho, similar combat.

The devs have said Demon's Souls was a big inspiration for the combat - totally shows.

well i thought for the quests (only early on so far) it was like demon souls in that it was minimum information type of deal for quests like had this one quest and had really no idea where to go

Use a vitality regeneration potion beforehand, use Quen after you do each glowy bit for when it goes beserk and when you need to run across the middle tenticles. One you get that sorted, it's just a case of keep trying and hope you don't take unlucky hits (ie other tenticles hitting you as you slash the glowy bits).

In the second stage of the boss, there's a big chunk of stone you can hang behind if you need to regain vitality.

Anyhow, I'm not a fan of how this game handles difficulty for bosses so far (on ch.2) . Almost always it's 10 minutes of hacking and slashing where 3 hits is enough to kill you, you get punished as much for being unlucky as playing badly.

                              A few questions!

                              - How hard is this for an Action RPG person. (I love ME2, Fallout 3 and Oblivion, but don't have the skills for a JRPG)
                              - Does it work well with the 360 Pad?
                              - Can you save anywhere?

                              Thanks!

Cheers for the info, gonna try it again this evening.

Other than the difficulty its been really good, though my only other irk is at night, its sooo dark, I know you can use potions to see in the dark but it feels like a waste when your just running to and from places.
