Seriously though, Zelda games arent going to be to everyone's cup of tea, but the point remains... from a player's and a game developer's perspective, this does remain one of the greatest games ever made, 12 years old or not. I think, in fact, this is a big wake up to call to the quality of our modern games. Sure they look prettier with more epic set pieces, but I've yet to play a game that has reached the sheer overall quality of Ocarina of Time. There have been titles that have come very very close: Portal (1 and 2), Bioshock, Metroid Prime, Ico, Tales of Vesperia, Limbo, Resident Evil 4, Half Life 2 and a few others, but none, imo, have quite reached the levels of overall gaming perfection as Ocarina.
It's like a classic piece of music or a masterpiece of art - the underlining quality of this game doesn't seem to age! Art is art, its timeless, and I strongly believe Ocarina has proven that it is indeed as a timeless classic.
So pleased and very envious of those playing this for the first time! Now we just need Majora's Mask 3D :-)
