The man has a point, that's a whole point above average! :-D

Seriously though, Zelda games arent going to be to everyone's cup of tea, but the point remains... from a player's and a game developer's perspective, this does remain one of the greatest games ever made, 12 years old or not. I think, in fact, this is a big wake up to call to the quality of our modern games. Sure they look prettier with more epic set pieces, but I've yet to play a game that has reached the sheer overall quality of Ocarina of Time. There have been titles that have come very very close: Portal (1 and 2), Bioshock, Metroid Prime, Ico, Tales of Vesperia, Limbo, Resident Evil 4, Half Life 2 and a few others, but none, imo, have quite reached the levels of overall gaming perfection as Ocarina.

It's like a classic piece of music or a masterpiece of art - the underlining quality of this game doesn't seem to age! Art is art, its timeless, and I strongly believe Ocarina has proven that it is indeed as a timeless classic.

So pleased and very envious of those playing this for the first time! Now we just need Majora's Mask 3D :-)

      Two hardest parts imo are

Dark Link (until you figure out the trick) and Bongo-Bongo... make sure you aim well and equip those floaty boots heh...

Lie with passion and be forever damned...

The dungeons are quite tough, even having been through them before. I got totally stuck last night in the third dungeon, having completely lost the route to several rooms I had already been to just a few minutes before. Took quite a bit of travelling around before I figured out how I had got there in the first place.

Can't say I've been impressed by Game. Didn't get anything for my pre-order, and the shop staff weren't bothered when I brought that up. They just attempted, unsuccessfully, to up-sell me a OoT strategy guide and some recent Xbox 360 game. And then a pre-owned Xbox when I told them I don't own one.

Anyway, the game itself is good though. Oh yes. Although, I'm a little concerned about the horsepower of the 3DS now. I'd place it somewhere between the N64 and Dreamcast, judging from OoT 3D.

I popped in to my local game yesterday and bought a 3DS with Zelda for ?199.99 and they gave me two Zelda hats and a Gold box with a poster in. I am trying not to play it as I bought it to play on holiday next week.

Okay so I'm beginning to hate the 3D on this console now in general I think. I must move alot more than other people when playing games as I CONSTANTLY see ghosting by moving either my hands or head to the side so I'm not looking at the centre anymore and it's ruining the enjoyment of the game. Along with the fact you move the console to look around I just have to turn it off. I know you can turn motion control off but the 3D is wasted on me anyway without that.

Do other people play it in 3D? Probably a question for the 3DS thread in general though this as it's becoming a game breaker for me.

On the discussion of this being an old game. Having never played it before, I think it plays just as I would expect a modern Zelda game to so I wouldn't say it's aged. I've not thought any of the mechanics were outdated or anything like that.

Loving this, so much more than I thought. It's now my most played 3DS game. The 3D is amazing, I've got the motion controls knocked off as it detracts from the immersion and then you have to find that sweet viewing angle again, but when you do it's sublime.

My fave 3D bits so far have been the little stories about the three gods and the Triforce where the blue light falls from the sky or when you receive a medal after completing a dungeon, it's like it's hovering just above the screen. Kokiri Forest is also fantastic. Only up to the Fire Temple but looking forward to seeing other locations in the game.

To this day that's still my favourite cut scene of all time. The music is immense.

Yep, the viewing angle is far too tiny for my liking. Pressing a button hard or using the touchscreen always produces ghosting. It makes it really hard to play in bed (one of my favourite places to play portables) with 3D as it's trickier to get it lined up. One thing I find is that holding the console further away reduces the problem whilst keeping the 3D. Hoping a 3DS revision comes with a screen with a much improved viewing angle.

I spent over an hour yesterday wondering why I couldn't keep a fish in the fishing and went to all the shops looking where to buy a fishing rod. Then I discovered/remembered that you simply catch fish by using a jar. Arrrrrgh.

If you look up how the 3d works I think it's going to be impossible to increase viewing angle.

I play in 3d but do have problems. I'm thinking I'll sell it once I finish zelda.
