26th October for 'prepare to die' edition on consoles. Retail. And the dlc presumably if you don't want to re-buy on disc.

Dunnow, sorry. Info was on Eurogamer, therefore fairly uninformative.

I love the way the game has burst back into life. I bought it on release last year for the ps3 and loved it but never quite finished it after almost 50 hous play, putting it aside for other games.

Dusted it off a week ago and started a new character. I'm still finding, seeing, learning new stuff from it! Can't wait for the new dlc!

Before I had some problems at sen fortress, so I saw several summons on the floor by the entrance, brought in these plays to help. One guy got hit by the swinging blades and fell to his death. Another guy we lost when an invader came in and tried to kill us. Finally, me and the one remaining summon buddy got to the top to face the boss, but I was flung off the side by it and died... Profound sadness for letting my helper down.

@ Supergoal: Did the same myself last night with new character. Got right back into it.

Amazing game, and amazingly unexpected things happen in it too. Compared to last time I played I was feeling quite badass with my early progress so celebrated by consuming some humanity at first bonfire in Undead Burg, only to be invaded immediately. "Who's this horrible ****e invading low-level noobs like me in this beginner's zone?", thought I. Had a bit of skirmish, but he was acting a bit cagey. Then he drops 10 Humanities as a gift. We spar a bit more. He sends me advice on parrying and how to time it. Did some parrying practise. Then he gifted me 4 titanite crystals. And as I was able to put up a smidgeon of half-decent resistance at that point, we agreed to duel for real. And then of course I got murderized - haha! We made with the PS3 friendlies. That was the last thing I was expecting from a phantom invasion!

EDIT: gameworld seems more alive with glowing summons signs and advice than it was when I played months ago! Astonishing, really.

I can assure you. Undead Burg invasions with high level equip weapons is par for the course.
I'm an anti-griefer of sorts. Where I'll be doing my good deeds with my overpowered equips of course, and just escorting these guys through the Burg on their way to the Taurus Demon, whilst at the same time (provided they've got the Master Key, well who doesn't these days) defeating Havel on the way. Especially fun when you get invaded at the Burg by someone who has got Quellags Fury sword. Or any other decent weapon they shouldn't have at that stage. I'll just playing keep away with my Demon Spear with Ninja flips on the side.

I've got a few characters at various levels which I use at different parts of the game to carry out my generous escort service.

Speaking of which. Those who like to PVP/ PVE may want to do the Bottomless Box glitch to get some characters with a clean slate of skills, since the new PC DLC fixes that glitch, and changes the properties of various eqiupment.
Off the top of my head the:

Dark Wood grain ring needs 25% weight (instead of 50%) now to activate.
Attacks of Greatswords slowed down, yet I 'think' the Katana R2 attack is slightly quicker (need to confirm)
Hornet ring down to 30% damage (instead of 50%)
Element weapons have a slight nerf (possibly 10% reduction in power)
Mask of Father only adds an extra 5% weight
Mask of Mother only adds 10% HP
Hyper Armour is back - Not sure if it's all greatswords, but even if you have zero poise, when you swing the sword, no amount of attacks can stunlock you out of it.

I'm suprised the Ring of Favour and Protection didn't get the nerf-hammer in all honesty. As well as them leaving alone parts of Giants/ Havel armour. But I suppose the DWGR reduction will inadvertently put pay to the amount of Burger King cos-players now.

Summons are a bit hit and miss. Kept failing to materialize when I wanted a bit of help. Is this common?

I've looked in several phonebooths, but can't find any business cards advertising Jimtendo's Escort Service. Just ones about lonely housewives.

I used to laugh at this thread as it sounded like a proper Dungeons & Dragons beard fest:
"Someone from the Gravelord covenant "cursed" your world"
"so i rang the second bell, i am at level 34 but still too weak (more health than stamina) to beat Sif the Wolf"
"my usual lightweight armour and equip the Grass Crest Shield, and one of the Pinwheel masks for quick stamina regen, plus the Wolf Ring for poise."
"The magic troll gifted me his enchanted ring around the firelight"
Now I really want to play it too, and I don't like dying!

Climbing tower is good. He'll wait at bottom for a tiny bit, so jump down and hit right trigger to do plunging attack on his head. That takes a big chunk off his health. Then slash at his legs and retreat for estus snacks if needed. Maybe a few firebombs from a distance. Helps also if you anoint weapon with that lightning stuff you can get off burg merchant.

Alternatively: scoff humanity and summon someone to make sure.
