It doesn't matter if it is technically the best. Different enemies have different strengths/weaknesses.

As for the patch, no idea on timescale but I'm not going to touch it for a day or two after release. I'm not risking my save file.

Thanks for the tips folks I'm awf to see Tintin now, but will probably spend most of the film refining a combination of suggested strategies in my mind.

I think the poise one sounds good, but I've got one or two useful pyromancies to throw in too. That shortcut is most welcome too.

But it's working better than any other weapon! So I'm not changing it!

A major problem with the four kings is that you can only use one ring and that means I have had to remove the one that boosts my armor. The other I have breaks so I'm not removing it.

You can take it off once you're down there (I think). I didn't have to have it on when I teleported there anyway.

Nope. Never played Demon Souls at all. I'm slowly getting to grips with it. Its still mostly a mystery to me.

If your interested the best place to get humanity is ? The Tomb of the giants, the baby skeletions just before the grave lord drop it like it's going out of fashion ?

The Abysswalker ring must stay on during the fight or you'll die instantly.

                  The way I cheesed the

                  Four Kings

(SL 45/ Pyro) was to wear

full Havels with Havels ring equipped. Took a swig of the grass item which improves the stamina regen for a bit and went at it it two handed with my Lightning Uchi diving to my right when it took a swing at me, as it never seemed to hit me. Though if you go too close it does its choke hold.

I even had a little bit of rest time at the end as the last king did not turn up that quick.

                  No Pyro spells used.

In all it took me x3 goes in all.

I am at the same point. I am soul level 70 and I have a black knight sword +4 or Silver knights spear +2. I only had one attempt and got raped by the 4 kings due to my camera being blocked. I also have the same ring set up as you so I think next time I will just overload on armour as you have to keep that stupid abyss ring on. I intend to grab some greens to use during the fight though! Two handed tank FTW as the shield blocking seems pointless even with the great shield of amos or whatever its called!

Two handed drake sword +4 and one grass item to increase stamina, gavels ring and Armor set = the way I bummed the four kings on my second try

The fact that everyone seems to have gone the heavy armor route and simply ran up to them and pounded them in the face makes me question how far most people would have gotten into this game before giving up if they weren't constantly looking at guides .

That might not be the only way to do it though. I mean I'm not there yet but I would guess if you were nimble enough you could dodge every attack?

I was wearing cloth armour and didn't use iron flesh. I have cojones the size of space hoppers, however.

They have a homing magic attack that can only be avoided if you run away from it until it disappears but it travels faster than you do So even that is difficult, especially seeing as there are FOUR kings and they all have that attack.

I haven't used a guide, but my character is a knight with a greatshield and sword/spear and no spells, so I have no choice but to wear big Armor and run up to **** and hit it!

I had trouble with the homing attack, but in the end I absorbed the damage, and healed. The only problem is when they start spawning, but providing you run at the first one ASAP, and you have enough time to deal with them one at a time
