Havel's set and ring, Black Knight Halberd, Witch Beatrice and a player summon. Four Kings went down in seconds.
      Kept you waiting, huh?

So the Fire Keeper at Firelink Shrine

        has been killed

        and I've located

and killed Lautrec and his boys

. For my troubles I was rewarded a Fire Keeper soul which I believe would

        bring back the dead keeper

when used. Foolishly, I used it on the of retrieval, only to recieve some Humanity and things.

I did manage to find another soul, but I dont think I can use it to bring back the lost
. I think it neded to be that specific soul?

Have I ruined my chance in relighting that bonfire this playthrough?

Also, can someone tell me how to get +Estus and if there's a downside to killing fire keepers?

        Cheers

You can get improved Estus flasks by giving fire keepers the fire keeper souls that you collect, If you kill a fire keeper you will not be able to use their bonfire and in most cases it makes it so you cannont join whichever covenant they are in.

Yep, you need that soul. Each Firekeeper Soul is a separate item in the inventory, unlike boss or soldier/hero/undead Souls you find on corpses.

Also, can someone tell me how to get +Estus and if there's a downside to killing fire keepers?
Bring a Firekeeper Soul to a living Firekeeper and chose "enhance Estus Flask". You can do this up to 7 times. Each playthrough holds exaclty 7 Firekeeper Souls, including the Soul for the Firekeeper at Firelink Shrine. If you find all Firekeeper Souls scattered throughout the world, kill all Firekeepers before NG+ and do not return Anastacia's Soul you'll be able to max out the Estus Flask as soon as you reach Firelink Shrine in NG+.

Killing a Firekeeper will unlit her relative fire, so no resting there. Attacking certain Firekeepers when part of specific Covenants will make you a sinner (a possible target for PvP invasions) and certain Firekeepers are also the NPCs that allow you to join a Covenant.

Thanks guys. Will giving a fire keeper soul to a fire keeper enhance my Estus permanently?

Yep, even through different NG+s. Kindled bonfires are also carried between playthroughs.

You can only upgrade your flasks to +7 though, after that you might as well use them for the humanity.

Anyone got a spare gargoyle helm to trade? Soul level 56 and those buggers just don't give...

During my last run in 1.05 the Gargoyles (in Burg and Anor Londo) dropped two of them, along with the halberd (not the tail axe) and the shield without doing anything particular; discarded the extra helms, unfortunately.
My suggestion is to get humanity at 20, Gold Serpent Ring and try to hit their heads (unconfirmed pre-patch method to have them drop the helm). With a bit of luck they'll drop all their equipment (except for the tail axe which needs to be cut).

What happens if you build up active Humanity?

Collecting humanity increases item drop rate, various resistances (first and foremost curse) and damage of certain spells and weapons, even when undead (grey number beside the health/stamina meter). Caps at 20.

                            Well, I didn't know that!

Humanity is usually scarce in my game. Usually, I'll throw a white soapstone down in order to gain humanity so I can become human and get some help. Now I will try and grind them out more to try the item drop boost etc.

Keep in mind that humanity is lost on death but regained just like souls and with the latest patch it's much easier to get, not just as a drop, but bosses drop at least one too.
With 5 or so points in humanity you should be able to farm it with relative ease. Also, you can kill all NPCs before starting a NG+. One NPC (

                              Rhea of Thorolund

) holds 7 and a Firekeeper Soul will give you five

I think I've exhausted my Gargoyles (Burg/ Anor Londo) as I did them during rev. 1.04 and they dropped sod all. Currently up to Dukes archives farming humanity like no tomorrow with ease from the

. Is there any more Gargoyles? or am I out for this playthrough?
