To get the benifits of the books do you have to hold them in your pouch ?

For combining things, you need them wherever you are combining. I do my combining in my house, so that's where they stay.

Thinking about getting this on the The 3DS as well so I can play it when Im not near my WiiU, but how does it play without the pro stick thing? As I don't have one.

I don't have the pro stick and the only time I potentially miss it is during the underwater battles. They're still doable mind and outside of a few solo and online missions, relatively infrequent. For the majority of the game, the auto-lock replaces the need for another stick. But I am used to playing the PSP games in a similar manner and that didn't have the auto-lock either so I could be biased. My advice is to try the demo, if that controls play get the game and buy the stick after if you have trouble.

EDIT - Just realised you have the Wii U version, so the underwater fights you can just leave for the Wii version.

The only time it makes a different is fighting in water, and with the lock-on camera even that isn't too bad. But not great.

As a warning, you can't have another set of save data on your 3DS - you can only transfer the same set back and forth. Only 3 character slots max see.

I'm currently rebuilding my overpowered armour sets from Portable 3rd. So far I've got my dual sword/ marathon runner back, and just made my para > crag > KO > para > crag etc stun lock LBG set, without the need for barrage piercing, which is nice. Though not for the other 3 guys as I always say before the fight "don't stand near the head" because I've got that covered.

Poor monster doesn't know what's hit them.

I'm working on my heavy bowguns and bows. Not really having as much time to play as I used to makes me appreciate it a little more.

Anyone having problems connecting to online games? Keep getting the same error message when trying to join someone else's room. Did have a couple of people join my game and complete a quest so my Internet settings don't appear to be the problem.

Loving the game but the repeated error code is a pain in the arse.

Just had my first two online hunts, and this games magic gets better and better. Co ordination friendliness and none of the usual online douchery. Just stunned by this. Kryss you were right, I haven't played a time sink like this one for a long long time. Long may it continue.

MoHun must have the friendliest community on the web period, ive played and made good friends on all MH, im missing playing the WiiU edition, but needs must, maybe at christmas or something when i have money or are more settled i'll get back in the saddle.

I'm going to have to take a break while I study for my exams. Hopefully when I'm back on the update will have dropped and we can all quest together.

I caved. I got the 3DS XL MH pack. I didn't want this game, but I did want an all-black 3DS XL. It'll keep me off the streets I suppose, for the next eight years.
