Didn't get to play the game as much as I would have liked even though I took Friday of work, but initial thoughts are, I very much like this game. And it is insane how much there is to do, earlier today I spent time going through the JP tutorial and then labbing him and I though I had only been on for half an hour but 90 minutes had gone by.

The Battle Hub is a more cooler place then i had given it credit for, I love just going to see what arcade machines are in the game centre and I always sit down to play something, especially all the 80s shooters. I took part in the Avatar battles and I have to say of the main game is too technical for some casual players Avatar Battle may be a place to play.

The game itself seem like there is so much in the meta now it is almost like a game of cat and mouse who will DI first, when in the corner do you natural jump, do you pause before you do it, do you through it out first cause you know it is coming. And then you have to learn what combo you can do that absolutely gives you most bang for your DI dazed state.

It is a massive achievement from the Dev team and you can see the shear passion that went into the five year development cycle. I thought this was a pretty interesting video about from someone that worked on the game.

I've put about 12 hours in over these past few days between doing trials, world tour and some battle hub.

I'm trying to get to grips with Marisa but I'm not sure how viable she'll be long term... Having some good fun though. The netcode is excellent and even playing people with pings in excess of 100ms has been like butter.

Still getting used to the new mechanics as I'm getting punished with drive impacts quite a lot. I think really I want to finish up with world tour mode before I really knuckle down and figure everything out, no rush though.

I've got my game set to 1440p High (rather than Highest) and I'm not having any performance issues on my 5600X/3060 Ti system. It is another game that is using quite a lot of my 8GB of VRAM though... Definitely feel a GPU upgrade coming on.

I'd be cautious about Steam reviews about Denuvo.

Every game with DRM, there's a cohort of Steam users who come out of the woodwork to wail about how terrible it is. Some of them are genuine... But I can't help feel that some of it is performative.

What's the verdict of the games Yakuza mode? If it's reasonably decent it might tip me

Im taking all reviews with a pinch of salt as what would be acceptable to some isn't to others. If it was just steam reviews I'd be less inclined to give it weight, as you mention there is a raft of folk who seem to come out the woodwork, but it's being mentioned in quite a few places; videos, discord, reddit, etc too. I really want it to work, fingers crossed.

I'm really enjoying it! More than I expected. But then, for me it's in addition to the main meat of the game. I'm not as sure for someone who's buying that as the main game. Blobcat pointed out that it feels kinda similar to Dead Rising in tone, inasmuch as how wacky it is.

Gah, I just felt that inexorable pull I have towards esoteric, awkward fighters that got me to main Gen in SF4.

I'm thinking it could be good to work through on the Deck, something that fleshes the experience out on the go

OK I took the plunge. Its not running as well as the demo and beta did. there seems to be some input lag that wasn't there before and I've had a few connection drops, which seem to happen every 5 matches or so, even with full green connections, then it pops an error code.
I've joined the club thing, hope that was OK, so feel free to invite me to act as a punch bag.

The connection drops might just be because there's a wider range of people playing it.

If the explosion of popularity of Street Fighter 4 years ago is anything to go by, there's a group of players with unsuitable connections who will, within a few weeks, either fix them or just give up. And then the general stability of online play will improve.

Let's hope so. I'd like to think that the ping and wafer colouring actually stand for the things they are supposed to.

Well the Capgods knocked it out the park with this, didn't they? Played some World Tour which is wonderfully goofy in that Capcom way. Shame about the frame rate drop in fights in that mode though. Hope they can sort that out.

Outside of WT, I've been just playing casual matches and training mode to work on execution. I've picked up Manon who is fun so far, but can be hard work to get in. Oh my god, especially against a JP.

The presentation in the game is just absolutely gorgeous!

I popped some causal matches last night and found my first JP player. Jp is pain in the arse.

First Battle Pass launches tomorrow, I have never played a game that had battle passes before, all seems a bit underwhelming apart from the music. Am I right that buying this doesn't actually give me those items you still have to complete certain tasks?

                              Edit:

Explained on the SF6 site you have to earn Kudos and you can potentially get your money back if you earn enough Kudos

Christ, it doesn't even last a month that pass. Shame classic stage themes are gated behind it but no way I'd sink money into those things as all your getting is tat that will detract from the games aesthetic
