The site you have has nothing at the moment. But Driller fans might be delighted and entertained by the www link I have.

The official Mr. Driller Fan Site of Japan. Cheers.

Just curious is this game still getting reviewed?

Thought this topic could do with a little bump for a couple of reasons:

        a) I just got the game (Yay!) and am still trying to work out how to save my game (and I have a JPN cube!)

        b) I wanted to "encourage" Burai to finish his review .

How many blocks does it take to save? Maybe I dont have enough on the card...

          It autosaves I believe.

Possible that it comes up with some msg when you load up the game? If it does you've probably not got enough space. It should go straight to the splash screen without telling you anything in Japanese (other than story).

If you pray to the Burai god every night, he may deliver...

You have to choose to start a new game or load a save game, then you have to choose whether to auto save or not. This is when you start to play from the title screen.

If you get this wrong, you can end up not saving, not loading, or saving on top of you previous game.

I can't remember exactly which options to choose right now though

As you've just started the game, you can safely play around with it to figure it out.

I had no Driller save on my card and the first time I played it didnt present me with any options up until the main menu (when you can pick single player, multiplayer or options).

The only time I got a choice was when I went into single player mode - it then presented me with 2 options (the right being initially selected) so I just picked that.

I think I will get a blank card and try all combinations until I make a save, and then play off the blank card until I know what I am doing.

After reading other threads on here I dont want to wipe all my JPN saves!

shouldn't happen on a jpn cube, but good idea to be cautious

Pick the right option which is continue your game then pick the left option which is yes, though I don't know what the question is. The game auto-saves very regularly.

I am having some real trouble progressing to level 2 on this game.

I have checked and used the gamefaqs FAQ but it isnt helping a lot.

Do I need to collect a stamp on each of the first levels to unlock the 2nd?

If so, how do I do the Druaga level? I have the tips there.. and I have reached the boss guy a couple of times but I have hardly ever hurt him and just run out of the little life I have left on him.

                    Some tips please?

To hurt the boss you need to use a destroy diamond that's the same colour as his glow. Therefore you need to not rush right to him but collect plenty first. Make sure to bump the 1 and 5% air ups out of your inventory and pick up more useful items like destroy and changes instead. When you use a change diamond his glow goes that colour.
To get to level 2 you first have to beat each level 1 on the 5 attractions, then go to the big red drill thing in the middle and do that stage. Then level 2 unlocks.

For starters clear Haunted Drill house its the easiest level to clear. Yeah you have to clear all of Level 1 to get Level 2.

After you clear level one you have to do the wicked exciting

Draruga takes patience but follow Vertigo's advice and you be ok. The music rocks. Level 2 still owns me, and multiplayer is awesome. Keep on drilling.

Just for clarity for others with similar problems - the blue stones will change his colour (the first letter of the colour is tagged onto the end) and the red diamonds will hurt the colour of which the first letter is tagged onto the end.

For example, use a blue diamond with a Y on the end to turn him yellow and then a red diamon with a Y on the end to hurt him.

Yes, sorry, I wasn't able to mention that as I couldn't get to a spare TV. The yellow ones also give you special abilities, such as a 2-block jump up, a drill that drills 3 ways at once, slower air usage, a shield that takes 1 hit, similar things like that, so they are useful too. If you're not a japanese reader, either get your character reference out (they're all written in katakana so very easy to work out) or just experiment with each one.

On a further note, has anyone managed to work out what conditions are needed to get awards on the special levels? I've pretty much stopped playing the game now until I can find out what you need to do, as I'm at a sticking point.

I got a copy of this off eBay for real cheap and its utterly weird.
                              But totally fantastic.
The music rocks and I love the graphics in the cut scenes.
All those songs in Japanse sound real cool too.
Not very good at it but the help on gamefaqs is very useful.

Anybody still playing and willing to help make me better at it?

I'm still playing it, but I can't get past Level 2 (or is it 3? 2000 meters anyway).

The only good advice is to practice. You need to make very fast decisions without really thinking about it; you need to trust your instinct.

The only way to teach your instinct how to play the game is practice, practice, practice
