Hey, this thread inspired me to pick up a near mint Mr. Driller second hand today for the DC, for ?8 from my local Gamestation.

I used to have it, but sold it on never having played it.

Having got the game back, it'll be good to see if it's as addictive as some of you have suggested.

    Here's hoping.

As much as I like Drill Land, the DC version is the most classic. Pure and unadulterated.

Drill Land is for Driller deviants who just can't get enough...

I was tempted to buy Mr Driller Drill Land due to all the positive talk here - I thought I owed it to myself to try it.

However I have just got a DC, so I am now tempted to get the DC one instead - is Mr. Driller the only version on the DC, and this is the one to get?

I have never played a driller game before.

Snap. I'm going to try it out later tonight.

And yes, Mr. Driller is the only Driller game on the DC I think. It also appears to be regarded as the best version too.

Shouldn't be too hard or expensive to find, as there are quite a few unsold PAL copies still floating about.

HMV had them for ?2.99 a year ago...

I'd strongly recommend Drill Land tbh, the diversity really makes for an enjoyable, well-rounded game.

But as a sampler the DC version is a very good choice, and as said can be picked up cheaply.

I highly recommend Drill Land - each game is different enough to make it feel completely different.
World Tour and Drindy Adventures for example just play in such different ways that it is quite frightening.

I'm tempted to get Driller Ace, does it just feature bog-standard drilling?

Help NTSCuk has caught Driller Fever! I've created a Drilling addiction. Anyway I got Ace and its pretty good they have an Amazing Pacteria game where you drill and get goodies for your pacteria. Its kind of a Draruga hybrid but portable. You can use crystals to destroy blocks and you don't lose air, unless you destroy a block. They also have regular drill modes where you have to reach 500, 1000 and endless miles etc. I think my pacteria hates me though.

Ace is easier to find than Driller 2. I kind of like 2 more because its has time attack which is great when your at lunch or something. Still all the portable Driller games have the option to pause and quit assuming that you don't remove the cartridge.

Ace connects to Drill Land there's a simple but helpful Faq up about it. Still if you can find Driller 2 get it. Since I'm no longer with Dreamcast I have no experience with that Driller.

Got to goat(?) holding boss key, defeat then stuck

Do you have to leave blocks to climb back out? If so HARD
You need the key to get through the gate, and you need to kill the...goat (lol) to get that.
Returning to the top is easy as pie - there should be a blue stone which looks something like ?-? that will take you to the map screen, select the 'section' you wish to teleport to and away you go.
Knew it would be something easier than I imagined. Thanks (and you Papercut)

totally seconded. the time attack modes of '2' are pure driller adrenaline (although they're over a little too quickly). i'm not into my tamigotchi-style gameplay, so the extras of 'ace' were a little lost on me...

but get whichever you can - there's nothing like drilling on the go!

I got up to level... 13 I think on the DC Time Attack but couldn't beat the time. The 5th or 6th ADV level anyway, can't quite remember.

I love Mr. Driller games! Can't believe I've missed this post for so long. Nice to see so many kindred spirits. Check my site for a little info.

Will be back to discuss later. Mr Driller G is the best BTW ^_-
