As with the DS it looks like they're launching in USA before Japan. I really don't know why they're launching last again though. After years and years of saying they won't release after the PS3 it now seems they will be. Oh well, at least they won't be in Europe, maybe we'll get it first!

I don't understand the strategy of the date either (if you forget the late Christmas gift syndrome, which I'm not sure is prevalent to the same extent as in other places). It's risky if Nintendo were hoping to capitalise on disappointed unfulfilled PS3 orders to help boost launch sales, as there's every possibility Sony will be given incentive now to make sure the second shippment of PS3s hits Japan before the year is out and put some undeciders in two minds.
Maybe they don't care.

I meant 'unconfirmed' in that it appears that it IS due for launch but there's no date on this pic so it can't be confirmed 100% yet unless someone can translate that text.:
edit:

Originally posted by simoran1is it just me od does it seem like nintendo is getting this launch wrong? i mean 2nd december in japan??????.....why? they have that market by the balls with the ds, it would be stupid to let sony get any hold on the market before they launch.Last edited by mr_sockochris; 14-09-2006, 06:21.

That and we have to take Sony's ever so strong word at the moment that significant shipments for the PS3 will come in before the end of the year.. when such proclamations are probably estimations of when decidely fraught diode problems are going to ease.
100,000-300,000 won't give Sony a vice-like grip on Japan from the off, put it like that.
Same goes for Nintendo (though they'll probably be more Wii units). It's all open out there.
