Cage spoke about his epic-sounding Heavy Rain thriller, and the auto-saving which is designed to stop people reloading after they make mistakes. Cage’s quote at the end of PLAY’s feature:
“I know it sounds weird, but I’d prefer people play through [Heavy Rain] once, and then maybe never replay it again. But”, he adds with a laugh, “keep it, don’t sell it.”
Source was Play magazine interview.
Is this still the case in the final version? Does it stop you replaying sections? Is the intention still to only play it once?

BIG QUESTION
What kind of regional differences will there be in the game?
On the Japanese PSN there is a documentary interview with a French guy who worked on Heavy Rain (the producer?), in English with Japanese ssubtitles. Near the end he says that each regional version of the game, USA, Japanese, and Europe, will be different, to suit the needs of that area.
What the hell does this mean? Are they still going to do this?
My fear is that any kind of nudity or such like will be removed from the US version because of America's fear of nipples. And any violence will be toned for the Euro version, due to Germany's inability to get over the fact they lost the war.
I want to get the definitive version - so which will it be?

The example he gave was that if you die, your dead ad the game carries on without you being able to reload it and try again.
I wonder if there will be any manual saving in the game? The scenes that have been shown so far have been fairly short so I suppose it is possible that it will just auto save each time you complete a scene.

After much googling I found several news sites saying the game WILL be censored, but none of them specified how and in which region.
I don't feel like buying this until I can be certain I am getting the definitive version, with all content, as the original developers intended.
My fear is there won't be any definitive version, and each will be censored in one way or another.

The UK version got through the BBFC untouched and the US version has also been confirmed as uncut.
I don't think they've confirmed it for anywhere else but as mentioned it does tend to be the same places that fall foul so people with the Australian, German & Japanese versions are the most likely to miss out if anybody does.
Any cuts that happen could be as simple as a change of camera angles and a amendment to what the characters are saying rather than scenes being cut. I would really prefer to see the game the way the creators wanted it to be seen though.
EDIT:
Thinking about it, the Chronicles DLC have so far only been announced for the two regions that have also been confirmed as passing the game as uncut so I suppose there is a very slight chance that the additional scenes could be where issues lie.Last edited by JP; 13-02-2010, 20:10.
