US Wii: Preorder Details Thread

This is actually insane! 0 units allocation! I really didnt expect that, I was all prepared for a 'we are only getting 15 units on launch but we should be able to fill all preorders by the years end' but not we are just plain not getting any.

Alas I will not be jumping on the PAL machine boat, the fact that im sitting here on the internet instead of playing Gears Of War is pretty much the reason I dont want a PAL machine. Plus if Gamecube release dates are anything to go by then.......ouch.......

Ah well, I guess we could always go and freeze ourselves until we get our Wii's?

Pretty gutted tbh. First my back-up order with Play goes tits up and then this, man i'm rather pissed off.
I'm not going to worry about the Pal launch and try desperately to secure a unit. I'll just kick back with some 360 and PS2 games that need finishing/starting. I'll still wait for my VG+ order but will prolly start scanning ebay.com when the games are sitting on my shelf.

well, I had ordered from DVDBO - knew I was too late and got 3rd in line at Toys R Us -I wanted US like lots of people here - but no Zelda @ Chrimbo is disasterous for me, even with Gears and PS3.

I feel sorry for everyone here, I really do.... even VG+

Weird how VG+ managed to get me a launch 360 despite the shortages but even with Nintendo's claims that there will be plenty of Wiis to go around this happens.

I wonder if that 4 million by the end of the year claim they were making is actually true.

I thought there would be plenty of consoles, and I've read somewhere that North-America would get most of the 4 million units. I hope I'll get my order from DVDBoxOffice, but whatever happens, I'm not going to cancel my order. Patience is the word. :/

If it comes to it I'll buy a PAL machine with Zelda and then stick it on eBay once I get my hands on a US machine. Inconvenient, but it's not a big deal in the long term.

Only made cancelling mine a whole lot easier.

Like a lot of other people here, I have very little time and money, and a plethora of gaming goodness to get through. GoW, R6, COD3, SC: DA, Viva Pinata, guitar Hero II, Yoshi's Island 2, FF III.......the list goes on. I'll live.

It'll be a shame not being able to play Excite Truck or Trauma Centre on launch.

Well the Nintendo Wii launch has truely had the wind taken out of its sails on the forum it seems.

I won't be touching a filthy PAL unit, so I guess it's just going to be a case of waiting till the numbers made available are better.

Xbox360 is going to have to keep me going in the meantime.
