US Wii: Preorder Details Thread

Cancelled my IM order today, I just rang the UK number after giving up with emails but they did it instantly on the phone, even if I lost ?10 through the exchange rate/commision charge on my card though which is rather annoying. I'll never use them again though, no information, no communication and just a bunch of lies to all of us here from start to finish. They're a pack of chancing strokers from what I gather on the phone and I don't even know how they've been going all these years if this is the level of service on offer.

Agreed. It took me 4 emails to get them to cancel my order, which took over a week to do. Tried many times to get them on the phone but with no luck. Wouldn't be so bad if they didn't lie to the customers

Yeah, that's the thing, it's a ****ty business practice but if they thought they could get some Wii preorders in and make some money before knowing for sure that they were getting consoles, I'd only be a little annoyed. But telling us outright lies is just pathetic. They deserve to go out of business, and I don't say that much.

Well, I started sending emails 2 weeks ago and have since sent 5. I've had absolutely no response to my request to cancel and it's still sat on pending! The money came out for it weeks ago!


Edit, I've just checked their site and I've got 3 orders. 1 is Wii + Zelda, 2 is Trauma Center and 3 is just a classic controller.

Why the hell can't they ship orders 2 and 3? They both say ready for dispatch on their site.

If you state on here that you're going to call your credit card's fraud department and report goods you've been charged for that don't seem to be on the way, they appear to be reading and orders seem to get cancelled shortly after. This is what happened to me.

Aah well, just spoke to my sis in NYC and she said you can't get hold of a Wii for love nor money. Ppl still camping out the night before in order to get one from ToysRUs and suchlike.

Ive just sent them yet another cancellation email, this time informing them that Ill be reporting them to my card company for fraud if they fail to respond within 24hours. Which I will. But its a pain in the arse I dont need and frankly they should just ****ing sort it out. Bunch of useless bastards, I am still gobsmacked at what a **** bunch of bastards they are

I've been away for a few weeks, and it's nice to see that nothings changed: IM still being the fantastic company they are.

My hunt for a Wii is still on. I've been to LA this week with work, and even standing on US soil, walking into US shops, got me no closer to purchasing a unit or accessories. 12,000 miles travel and still nothing to show

As for IM, well, I've just sent them a cancellation order; whether they listen to it or not is another matter, but I figure that I might just call my CC company and let them know that the last contact I had with the company was with them telling me the units were in the country and getting ready to ship. Which was over three weeks ago now.

I'm putting all my eggs in the VGP basket now. I've given up hope of having one for xmas. In-fact, I've kinda lost all excitement about it now (even though I've still not had chance to play on one). I've got plenty of other things to keep me happy. FFIII on the DS and WOW on the PC.

Think im gonna have to join you in the 'no hope for christmas' attitude. To be honest this is ****ing pathetic, there should be no issue of supply when it comes to something new being released. I should be able to walk into a store and pick it up on release day with or without a pre-order.

The fact VG+ got screwed with supply just adds to my frustration. I go back to uni early January and cant take my Wii with me as I dont have a tv. This leaves me with a very limited chance to use my Wii if things continue like this. I think I might write a very strong letter to Nintendo of America and Europe just outlining my points. Dont expect a heartfelt reply but at least ill get to release some steam.

If they ship today there's a slim chance to get it by Xmas, as Fedex normally uses three working days to deliver the goods...I don't have too much fate that it will be here fro Xmas, but at the very least I will take all the time I need to finish Zelda on the PAL machine I bought. If only that component cable shows up...deliveries in my area are awfully slow, still waiting for Swing Golf and TP for GC, too.

Good news that DVDBO are still shipping 'em out. Could peeps who ordered from them keep posting when they ship along with their order dates? I ordered mine on the 29th Sept. Just spoke to Chris on the online chat who thinks they should receive them every week till Xmas, then a large shipment in 1st week of Jan. How true this is, I dunno.

I had a big saga with DVDBO getting mine. I ordered on the 21st of September, and I thought you might enjoy the transcript of this web chat I had with the same bloke you spoke to:

Strangely though, my Wii was actually sent on the 27th of November and I received it two days later! The shipping turnaround was great from DVDBO, but as usual the communication was terrible. Still, even with the postage included (after converting to US dollars) I paid ?141 for my Wii and shipping - nice! Much better than my experience of pre-ordering a DS from them a year before it was released, but that's another saga...
