Is there any difference between official and third party component cables?.... I'm sick of waiting for the official ones.

I guess I'll have to fire off an e-mail to Nintendo.

I won't have my PAL Wii for long...getting an NTSC one soon. Is it likely I'll experience the exact same problem even with an NTSC Wii?

Is there any way I can find out whether my TV does 50hz over component or not? It's pretty recent. This Samsung model.
If it has the "HD Ready" logo then it has to play 50 and 60hz video Component as well as DVI or HDMI. I've heard of this problem with the PAL version of the Wii before though so I doubt it's the TV.

My component cable cost me a total of £230. £20 for the cable and £210 for a home cinema set-up. The cost hasn't finished yet as now I need to buy a small extension because the Wii cable won't reach the tv and the home-cinema at the same time (the tv has no audio-in at the rear)! ****. Picture is definately improved though. I have a CRT Panasonic that can do prog-scan. Very nice picture actually. Has a 3D-comb too. Have not got a ****ing clue what that is and don't use it as it makes everything look weird. But it may impress someone. Does something like 720p aswell. I just stick to 100Hz flicker-free.
