Apparently you can view the iPlayer embedded stuff (On the news pages, for example) but the iPlayer itself doesn't work yet. Must be some controls on there that aren't supported.

However, if I browsed the PSN for a bit (using a DS3) and then fired up LBP then it didn't ask. Seems like the PS3 sends a disconnect after a bit. The BD Remote is able to reconnect and send a command in under a second so most people don't even notice.
LBP sucks in this respect methinks. Everytime I boot it up, it always starts a 2-player game even though I have my DS3's set as device #1 and #2. I have to reset them each time I play. The USB dongle for Buzz overrides DS3's too. Very annoying I must say.
      Kept you waiting, huh?

Agree Joe. My Buzz dingle is unplugged for this very reason. Hopefully fixed for the full game.

You have to change your name to Buzz Dingle NOW - it's the law!

The auto-off only works after a certain length of inactivity but you can override that by allowing it to turn off irrelevant of what it is doing. The problem is that it'll do it even if you're playing a game.

iPlayer isn't compatible with the PS3, there is an unofficial iPlayer front end which is compatible at http://ps3iplayer.com

The quality of iPlayer on a HD TV make it pretty pointless for some people but the BBC & Sony are working on an official version which I'm expecting to be accessed via an iPlayer icon in the XMB.

Vidzone is being added to the PS3 at the beginning of the year and that's a similar type of service so it may be then that it happens.

The remote has had a really annoying auto-off function since launch. Because we quite often use the PS3 for TV it can be on for hours with no DS3 connected. After a short while it switches itself off so you have to press the keys twice to do anything with it, the first to switch it on and the second to get it to do what you want.

I thought iplayer was incompatible due to flash 9 (and the ps3 hack takes you to the wii flash 7 files). Now PS3 is all flash 9ed up, it should surely work.

CFW 5.00. Seems POPSLOADER doesn't work yet - not sure if it'll work through the network update yet.

                    Nice & quick.

What the hell is popsloader? Should I be worried because it's not working yet?

Anyone know a link to download the latest Japanese firmware for PS3? Tried for an hour and it was only 40% done (!!)

                      Even Sony's website it's slow

Does it need to be Japanese, I thought it was the same for each region? I've always downloaded using the PS3 but DAX always hosts the PS3 firmware. No idea if it's any quicker though.

All PS3 firmware is identical, doesn't matter what region you get it from.

POPSLOADER lets you choose which version of POPS you use when you run a ripped PS1 game, as different versions support different games better.

Thanks, I rarely use PS1 games on it as it's usually older emu stuff that I play if I'm not playing UMD games. Has anybody here updated it on here yet? I'm always a little nervous with these things until they are well tested.

I tried the network update, but it failed when trying to download the 500 EBOOT (Which I think is the standard EBOOT.PBP renamed for the CFW update). I'll try again tomorrow, if not I'll do it manually.

It's so painless to go from CFW to OFW and back again I don't mind screwing around with it.
