Haven't used one but they look ace. I am tempted to get the PS3 equivalent as I dig the black/red/white colour scheme and have already got 360 sticks coming out of my ears. BTW, worth checking out amazon.com if you are looking at them - cheaper original price, decent shipping rates, and you can pay the customs fee upfront avoiding the "handling fee" and a potential delay.

Hori made a few decent ones, but the official Sega one is poo.

I've got a PS3 version from this. I really like it and I certainly wouldn't call it big. The top panel has sides that stick out slightly so it appears slightly bigger than it is. It is very light as well, a fair bit lighter than my Hori RAP3 and the Madcatz TE. It also has a compartment for the cable which works nicely when you put the stick away for storage.

I take it that the PS3 equivalent will not work on the XBOX? Damn shame that one stick doesn't work on both! (or does the 360 version work on the PS3?).

I live in Tokyo, and they're on sale in a few shops for around ?81 (current exchange rate, no delivery required). Got knows what the girlfriend will make of it!!

I've seen it in the shop and had a little fiddle with it. It's double the price of a different Hori one and is basically double the width. Something about it looks totally badass though... I love it. I would get the PS3 version if it was going to work on the 360... otherwise I'll just get the XBOX version as I have the shooters on that. All my consoles here in Japan are white anyway!

Ah, you've been comparing it with the smaller sticks. They're generally made with Hori buttons and not Sanwa buttons. If you want a top end stick, then you'll want Sanwa parts as well. As for the size, a bigger base makes it more comfortable in the long run. You want a large area for your wrist to rest otherwise the edge will cut into your wrist and it won't be a pleasant experience playing these games.

Sorry to bang on about it... I bought a crap load of games rather than a stick! I am still undecided. Does anyone know the difference between the Hori Real Arcade VX SA compared to the Hori Real Arcade VX SE? Aside from one being black, that is.

VX SA uses SAnwa parts, where as the VX SE uses SEimitsu parts.

SEimitsu are naff, I recommend getting the SAnwa.. Depends actually. Sanwa for fighters, seimitsu for shmups - imo.

Heh, I am going to be playing shooters mostly on the xbox... fighters on the PS3. Having said that, I tried the VX SA in the shop and preferred the movement of the stick and the feel of the buttons compared with the smaller Hori stick that was half the price (but is probably bollocks).

I take it that this xbox stick doesn't work on the PS3? Thanks a lot for your feedback btw guys

You'll need to get the 360 version to use it 360 and PS3 version to use on PS3 only. You can mod sticks with other PCBs, but that's more advanced. Got one that can do 360/PS3/PS2/Dreamcast/Saturn/PC Engine etc & another that can do 360/PS3/PS2.

                      Thank you kindly

In that case I will be going with the 360 version then. All the fighters and other games I have on the PS3 that would use a stick also exist for the 360, so if I find myself wanting to use a stick for Street Fighter then I'll rebuy it on 360. I have a USB saturn pad that works well on the PS3 though, so I will use that for now.

God knows how I am going to get this back to the UK, whenever I go back ^^

Very nice! Shame it's amazon.co.jp exclusive.

Yup, that is gorgeous. Do wonder what they'd do with the colours if there wasn't the green/red/blue/yellow requirement though!

I suppose I could always change them out at a later date? Should be here soon. Raining in Tokyo so just chilling out in the apartment.
