Slide pad heavy use of stylus confirmed. This game is going to be incredibly unfun for lefties.

You'd think a company where the top designer is left handed you care more about these things.

pretty poor launch line up... I'd probably buy about 4 of those games, but there aren't any that I'm super excited for...

It'll be interesting to see if brand domination overrides the battery life here - Sony were slaughtered when the PSP battery life was revealed.

I'm also curious to know what the official DS battery life is at full brightness, because we seem to charge every few hours on our two pink DSeseseses!

i expected to be more excited by this.
can i really buy it just for ridge racer?

Surely Nintendo are holding back the first party big hitters to give the third parties an in from the begining, meaning better support in the long run?

Nintendo know they do not need to launch the 3DS with loads of AAA first party stuff as the console will still fly off the shelves. When sales slow after the launch period and stock has built up in the warehouse we will start to see the big first party games.

On the plus side Dead or Alive is out shortly after launch (3 weeks)

Not shocking more like ****, layton is the only one i'd get & i can't, as thats too above my Japanese level to play. Even the stuff on the horizion isn't getting me excited at all theres only paper mario & animal forest.

The ds had a way better launch selection.

Sorry, but to my mind, that's a minus.

It's unusual for there not to be a single 'killer app' for a launch, usually there's at least one showcase game that the majority buy.

Layton will probably be good but it would've also probably have been good as a DS game

i doubt we will get layton for launch, i reckon eu and usa will get at least zelda or pilot wings

what the hell. I'm really hoping that isn't accurate!

Isn't good battery life one of the defining features of Nintendo portables?
High-tech competitors like the Game Gear have always died a death because their battery life was crappy. And the PSP has struggled with similar issues versus the DS.

I find it hard to believe that Nintendo would launch a new portable with worse battery life than any handheld I've heard of...

I'm not particularly fussed for another Layton, 3D or not but I was hoping for a new, slightly left field, Ninty 1st party title that really showed off (even relied) on the 3D to work; sort of a Luigi's Mansion for the 3DS. I saw either Icarus or Steel Diver as that title. Sorry Yesteryeargames, yet another SF (a series that, for me, peaked ages ago) and PES don't make a great launch in my eyes.

And it's no wonder that it's bundled with the charging cradle. Poor battery life coupled with a feature that encourages you to keep it on all the time meant they had to come up with some way to make you keep putting it back in the same place to charge rather than keep having to hunt around for the mains adaptor.

Like a quite a few others, I'm only really attracted to Ridge Racer there :/ and we don't even know if that will be worthwhile, since Ridge DS was basically dross compared with other titles in the series (and in particular Ridge Racers on PSP).

I'm absolutely amazed that Ocarina isn't listed as a launch title too, I thought that was a dead cert since it's just a remake!

The battery life is a bit disappointing but I mainly end up playing handhelds at home anyway so I'm not really that bothered.
