It would appear that the Premium Packs have (perhaps unsurprisingly) sold out at Asda & Base.

Amazon have price-matched for the Basic Pack, though.

MW 3 was an absolute sack of ****e and I liked the MW franchise. Crap online due to poor servers and they shouldn't have even bothered with the single player mode.

MW3 was a huge disappointment. Made by a shell of what Infinity Ward once were (hence the need to bring in Sledgehammer games to help develop it)

Guys, when your Wii U's come through, make sure you have something to keep you busy for a hour or two while getting the updates :-)

Once that process is out of the way it's smooth sailing. Also, whether you like the look of it or not... try to get hold of Nintendoland, if only to borrow it - and some friends round. It will bring back memories of those classic couch-play multiplayer days.

Also, head over to EShop and download Rayman Challange Ap! :-)

Game and Wario out in June, yay!

Aye, I haven't touched it in single player, but Nintendoland is probably the most fun I've had in a local-multiplayer game since the N64 days.

I don't have any plans to buy a Wii U but ?149 on Amazon is impulse buy territory for me.

Seriously, all it would take are a few N64 VC games and I'd buy one without thinking about it. Hell, I'd buy it with decent NES/SNES support.

Why don't they put every game from Wii VC on the Wii U? Seems silly starting again!

The Wii VC isn't 60Hz, but the Wii U VC is. Plus, the Wii U VC supports different controllers.

As nice as 60Hz VC gaming on the Wii U VC is, I fail to see how that justifies being made to re-purchase what you bought the first time on Wii VC.

Wii U VC supporting different controllers isn't really an excuse, either - Wii Classic Controller, Classic Controller Pro & Wiimotes worked on the Wii U last time I checked.

(I say this as somebody who generally has a lot of time for the VC concept, despite Nintendo doing their level-best to destroy it on the Wii by hardly ever releasing "new" content for it.)

That has nothing to do with why they don't just transfer the entire Wii VC onto Wii U VC.

                          Never said it did.

Point still stands, though. The prospect of having to shell out money again for stuff already purchased on the older console is still a crap one.

Absolutely. It would be like Apple making you buy your music again every time you get a new ipod.

Plus, I know they have to change some things - get a US rom and maybe map some buttons - for each game but that would take, what, 30 minutes?

....and it is this sort of thing that gets me to say PIRACY? GO AHEAD!!!! (and I'm an ICT teacher telling kids why it's bad mmkay)

Yeah it's pretty absurd. The continued Wii branding and the way the new machine has been painted as a full replacement for the older system is entirely at odds with having to buy rebuy digital games.
