Why would nintendo want a monkeys chuff

Nintendo have never really given much support to anything at the forefront of display tech last gens wii despite coming out after the 360 was a Scart based console display wise, Later revisions of the wii despite removing gamecube compatibility did nothing to address the blurry visuals, a hdmi for 480p would have been a nice trade off.

Can a company that's quite happy to have its games look crappy on most modern tv's be that bothered about whether there overpriced Roms are 50 or 60hrz? i doubt it?

PAL gaming is second class gaming when you go with Nintendo LOL

        Your mistake here is thinking:

        A) Nintendo of Europe employ skilled developers.

        and

        B) Nintendo want to devote any time to modifying and then testing those modifications to any of their classics when they could be courting washed up sports stars or B-list celebs (at best) to star in ads for another mediocre party or 'active' game.

LttP in 50hz is positively a treat next to PAL Super Metroid and it's horrible/intrusive subtitles. I'd actually rather Satoru Shibata just walked in my living room and started spiralling all over my TV screen with crayons than look at PAL Super Metroid.

Virtually everything on the Wii supports 480p via component. It looks good.

Yeah i know but the problem was virtually nobody used or knew about this as the wii component cable didn't come in the box.

Oh come on! It's a right laugh when you do the German subtitles in Arnold Schwarzenegger voice during the opening sequence! And besides the subtitles are there only during the opening, hardly ruining the rest of the game.

Lets be fair, component 480p on pretty much every hdtv looks ****...i had loads of hdtv's in the time the wii was out and it was only ever acceptable at best.

Looked good on my old panasonic pd6 plasma(852x480 pixel display)...

Depends on the game. Mario Galaxy and Mario Kart certainly didn't look **** when I played them on a HDTV.

Put it next to a crt with wii connected via rgb...

Simple fact is that scaling sucks on the majority of HDTV's...especially the ones released around the time of the wii.

Mario galaxy games were the best looking games on wii, alongside murumasa.

Couldn't agree more Nintendo just don't care, need to start complaining at them more.

Just uploaded a video comparing the two versions. PAL version is utter **** compared to the SNES version it has additional slowdown during the storm and the controls are less smooth and more choppy!!!!

Now the world can see the truth, so pass it around, I slowed down on the NTSC version during the opening text to compare your uncle's walk animation and he is super slow in the PAL version.

It's a case of look at NTSC link go, he's just running rings around the PAL one.

Done a Super Mario Kart video too but will upload that tomorrow.

A suggestion that Smash Bros is being prepped for release next Spring close to Mario Kart 8. Would be good and a handy double whammy boost for sales but I'm not holding my breath

That is entirely the point. Why spend money unnecessarily? It's not a fighting game, the majority won't even know it's playing slower. It already plays the way everyone played it.
                            Kept you waiting, huh?

Super Mario Kart video is up, has some funky splitscreen action before a side by side comparison.

Nintendo conversions at their very worse....

I think we will see it, it was always slated as Q2 2014 and as I've said before after they dropped DK: Tropical Freeze to Feb I think Nintendo's aim now with Wii U is a first party title every quarter.

                                26 Jul: Pikmin 3
04 Oct: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
29 Nov: Super Mario 3D World
                                ?? Feb: DK: Tropical Freeze
                                ?? Apr: Mario Kart 8
                                Jun/Jul/Aug: Super Smash Bros.

Things we know are beyond that are Bayonetta 2 (like The Wonderful 101, I think is in addition to Nintendo's plan and a reinforcement for the pre-Christmas period), Yarn Yoshi, Miyamoto is confirmed to be working on a new IP, Zelda is a apparently being re-thinked, there's also possibly a second new Nintendo IP based on comments/CVs of Japanese developers. I also noticed Reggie was wearing a Samus pin on VGX while showing DK: Tropical Freeze with a Producer from Retro and when Geoff Keighley asked him about it he was very cagey which feels like a wink that we're going to see a Metroid (it's widely known to be Reggie's favourite franchise).
