I think sometimes on here you guys forget that not everyone is in their 30/40s and been gaming for 20+ years. NES Remix is an education and I think it's one of the best things Nintendo have done in decades.
Nintendo Land is also a caveat. Yeah, if I was in a room with one of you guys we'd play Street Fighter or Outrun 2 or something but with my friends and family Nintendo Land was the best local multiplayer game I ever played until Mario Kart 8 came along, it's just so easy to get into but deep and requires skill (unlike Wii Sports/Mario Party stuff), me and my young cousin completed co-op Metroid and Zelda in it and it was the most fun I've had in a room with another human being and a games console.
They're great games, I just think you guys are perhaps too core/skilled gamers for certain things like these but I'm not a weirdo, just part of a different audience. I mean I'd rather have my teeth pulled than play Skyrim or COD but I accept they're good at what they are even if that's something that's not for me.
Nintendo Land, for me, just smacks of Nintendo trying to attempt another Wii Sports killer app whilst forgetting the simplicity of what made Wii Sports so popular. I accept that the multiplayer aspects of the games can be fun but imo they just smack of being a jack-of-all-trades whilst not really mastering anything well.
As for the NES Remixes (titles that I own)? In short bursts they're fine enough but the novelty wears off quickly with what is, essentially, just a retro compilation with a few extras tacked on. Nintendo weren't the first to make games like this, funnily enough, although admittedly one does wonder why they hadn't done something like this earlier with their back catalogue.
Good games? Sure. Great games? I don't think so.
