Usually I play dungeon crawlers, VS fighters or shmups. Ratchet looks appealing, but I'm not paying £40+ for a used game. Demon's Souls.... I don't have the patience for that. As I've gotten older, the longer games I prefer to play are ones with a good story and character development. Saying that though, I am looking forward to Horizon as I really enjoyed the original.

Guilty Gear Strive might be a goer for you.

I have GG Xrd on PS4, but I've never really been able to get into it. Is Strive more accessible? I think the only Arc fighters I've enjoyed are Arcana Heart 3 and Battle Fantasia.

You might not have it but if you have PS+ don't forget the Collection in the store, a good chunk of the PS4 stuff opened up as well there

Yup, but I already have most of them on PS4 physical. The ones I'm bothered about anyway!

That Demon Slayer game looks intriguing though.

Yeah, I was the same with previous GG games but Strive is really accessible without losing what makes the series special. It looks incredible as well. After trying but bouncing off almost every GG game they've made, I fell in love with this one.

Returnal might be up your alley.

Seconded for Returnal, 3rd person bullet hell roguelike. Very tough but extremely addictive, only issue is there are no saves so when you play you have to commit to a run that might be a couple of hours to complete.

It recently had a save state implemented so you can quit the game now without having to worry about an update killing your run.

I'm just craving a new DRPG. Demon Gaze Extra is currently Japanese only and Undernauts has been pushed back to the end of January!

I found GG Strive way more accessible. Coming from mainly playing Street Fighter, I would find Xrd a lot to process and to a degree Strive can be a little overwhelming, but I stuck with and I reckon its my game of the year so far.

I've not played much of Xrd to compare, but I'd say Strive definitely does a good job of easing you into its systems and teaching you how to play. Definitely feels like it's easier to pick up than when I first learned to play XX!

Needs a few extra pieces of information like VRR and price. Why the **** isn't Sony rolling out VRR?

That said, I agree most cross platform titles are closely matched across the two.
