Yep, I'd probably go for those three still so PS5 only players definitely do have stuff coming but I'd probably go Series X at this point over PS5 at the slightest sign of any price savings which are more plentiful via MS even without Game Pass. I have to assume Sony are staying very schtum on more titles from their stable, it'll be a very low key run from them otherwise this year so if stuff is coming they're being much more guarded over them than ever before

Some early impressions of the Edge seem to suggest what we all knew...
Its a dualsense, but more expensive. The build quality is the same, haptics are the same, buttons feel the same.
You're paying £160 more for slidey out analogues and some back buttons.

"As for if there's going to be a Pro version this generation, I'm not entirely sure. It doesn't feel like the regular version has been fully utilized yet and probably won't be on mass until the end of the year. All I can say is that I've heard more about the PS6 than a PS5 Pro."

A pro eventually of both consoles is a given but not for a few years.

It's a somewhat difficult one. In the grand scheme of things PS4 Pro wasn't really a needle mover for PS4 whilst Xbox One X was effectively a waste of MS's time. The costs of development and launch for what was effectively a new console intended to sell a fraction of the older model seems like a poor economy decision when the original outsells it regardless and neither made much difference to the end game. With MS I suppose much will depend on if they stick to their previous claim of not doing generations anymore making any new system both a Pro and a Series X2 at the same time. For Sony... like Nintendo, I feel like last gen simply proved they either don't need a Pro or it's much more important to get lower cost options out as the life cycle continues.

Just saw ign review it, have it a 9/10 but said the battery life was around 4.5-5.5hrs depending on the game and how strong the haptics were set.

I was only getting 6 hours on my dual sense when I had it so I guess you're right about it being the same battery. I think it's good they crammed all the extra features in without adding bulk but part of me thinks if I'm going to shell out £200 for a controller I'd want a better battery as part of the deal.

The latest dualsense update seems to have cut battery life in half too. I'm basically having to use it cabled at this point.

Has there been a controller update in the last few days then? I've not seen anything, i wont update if that's the case.

If that much about the controller is the same as the standard DualSense then it compounds that people should effectively boycott the Edge, blatant price gouging

Same as the pro controller from MS, both utterly pointless.

The Edge would have to deliver substantially more for me to even consider it. The fact it doesn't even include hall effect sticks is a piss take. The Dreamcast controller had them!

Interesting clues about 'pro' models or the lack thereof. For me it's hard to see what they could deliver. All of the games so far this gen have basically been been beefed up last gen games. I guess as we finally move towards a point where the games really become more demanding it could be useful...but then we'll be approaching the next gen machines.

On the other hand, with the way it's going now, the distinction between a 'pro' upgrade and a truly next gen machine is all but vanishing. The PS5 is in many respects a PS4 Pro Plus as it is.
