I've got a feeling Ubisoft are testing the waters with R6 Extraction and the game pass numbers will dictate the pricing and overall model of Ubi+ on Xbox.

My Game Pass Ultimate latest monthly pass expired last night and I have a second code to use by June. Flicking through the things that I would look at playing with it I decided to hold off. Game Pass is definitely a service where I feel the AAA's are the lynch pin. There's a lot on there but it's vastly titles that I'd play because I have Game Pass, not ones I'd get Game Pass to play. Assuming Stalker 2 makes its April release that seems like the next likeliest use then which is a slight shame as I did a very short bit of The Gunk and also returned to Back 4 Blood for a few levels last night and enjoyed both, they'll end up benched now. Tried Sable too but it didn't impress.

That's assuming multiple things though as well like focusing on buying via digitals inflated costs and what access the user has to titles they're interested in. Gunk seems good but I'm not going to pay £20 for it just as much as I'm not going to pay monthly for GP access to it. Much better suited to wait till a major title comes out and persistently access and go through the key games of interest for free consistently. Gotta bear in mind that by the time Stalker 2 releases I'll be up to something like having four or more free months of GP Ultimate in the bank so yep, nothing there that justifies the expense of paying for the intervening months given the options MS has laid out on the table

I just finished The Gunk and I think it's a pretty decent little indie title. Sable though, I just found that boring in the extreme.
If this was the 360 era there's every chance these sorts of games would have a short demo to sample before deciding to purchase the game full price. Sable in fact did get a beta demo but it's rare these days.
Though I'll agree the bigger first and third party titles are still the tentpole reasons to keep signed up I am really finding the variety of game pass is what makes it. This is even more important given the many ways to now access it (console, pc, cloud, mobile) as some games work better than others when you're e.g. playing on your phone using a controller.
I think there's enough big titles hitting the service that it almost stands as great value for those alone, but it's the smaller games I find myself trying more and more because there's zero risk in doing so. In fact I've actually bought several smaller games because I could play them on game pass...
lonely mountain downhill, slay the spire, hades etc... I've bought these on Switch and Xbox in some cases.
I also think the biggest factor going forwards it's first party titles aren't being removed. Since the launch of the Series X you've now got Flight Sim, Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5, Psychonauts 2, Gears Tactics etc... it's only growing with each release and I don't see them sunsetting any as yet.
