The only Mario you ever need is Mario Maker 2.

      There, I said it.

And there was me thinking that only dataDave was capable of awful 2D Mario takes on here...!

Though seriously, the endless ability to churn out user-made content (albeit content that definitely varies in quality) probably puts Super Mario Maker 2 above the tired and stale NSMB/NSLU/NSMBD.

It’s the same director, same producers, same development team, exact same characters, exact same logo, same cover art style, same.. you get the idea.

Just not the same voice. And I’d love to know the inside story on that one. Clearly things seem to be very amicable so why then? The voice they have for Wonder sounds a touch more Mickey Mouse but it’s not a different direction. Charles whatshisface seems fine and can clearly still do it. So why?

There's multiple tweets but the short of it is the leaker who accurately laid out a previous Nintendo Direct has laid out the next one with multiple hints which seem to suggest we're about to get:

                -A reveal of a F-Zero title
-A reveal of a Donkey Kong title
-More details of the Princess Peach game

Do we also get a decent online account system with the first one?

                      Requires analogue triggers.

                      New game preferable.

Use the right stick instead. Problem solved.

But yes, a new F-Zero would be preferred.

GameCube controller adapter and GameCube controllers are also compatible with the Switch, made so when SSBU was released. Those peripherals could easily be reissued, along with said rejigging for native Switch controls, so it isn't nearly the issue that it once might have been for an F-Zero AX/GX Switch port.

All that said, put me in the camp for an all-new and original F-Zero game.

We all know it won't happen though.

Hauling around GC controller, adapter, and maybe an extra stand to prop the Switch up so you can actually attach the adapter to the console, would kill the portability factor of the Switch, and they'd still need to factor in people playing without the GC pad.
If it's a GX remake, it'll be without analog triggers. And if we get a completely new F-Zero, I fear we'll get at least one control gimmick a la Star Fox Zero.
I'm still doubtful we'll get something, though.

Not quite. You need to press both sides at the same time, under varying degrees depending on the corner and its apex. Slamming both triggers jams the machine into a full drift where you can regain a level of traction by depressing the trigger for which way you’re currently turning.

You’d also need an extra thumb for acceleration.

It's definitely not perfect but my point still stands: it wouldn't be a major problem now like it would've been a while back. GC controls would be one option for the purists.

Also, I've said it before and I'll say it again: if Nintendo are going to pull the crap they did with Starfox Zero on F-Zero then I'd honestly just rather they let the series die.
