Noticed on twitter you can actually buy aftermarket batteries to upgrade the dual sense via Amazon.

Biggest one seems to be 4000mah which is pretty chunky and it doesn't look like a major job opening up the controller to swap it.

Still I don't think I would want to do that to my brand new £200 edge unit but I've opened up cheap Xbox controllers in the past and it's a pretty simple job.

With all the issues surrounding dodgy exploding batteries of late, I'd stay away from anything too high-powered as just looking down the list of replacements batteries on Amazon i cant find any info on any the Brands of the batteries.

Shaworce According to google and gov uk no such company is registered in the UK.
DuraPro gets you a load of dissolved companies,
      Lioncast nothing,
      Pondway some sort of carehome?

What gives with all this stuff, you used to be able to at least trace the companies selling stuff in the uk now it's no name brands with no history or contact

Looks like one of the smallest remasters yet

          Comment

Like its predecessor, The Last of Us Part 2's remaster is not merely an old title re-released with a shiny new coat of paint, although that may be how it seems at first blush. The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered has been enhanced to make use of the PS5's greater capabilities, including native 4K (in fidelity mode), 1440p upscaled to 4K (in performance mode), and unlocked framerate for those of you with fancy enough TVs to support VRR. It's faster, prettier, and includes improved accessibility features, boosted shadows, and makes use of the DualSense's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, too.
Not sure what the issue is, it's like a lot of other well-loved PS4 games has been given a full PS5 mode to make use of the increased power, Haptic suport a solid 60fps mode and a locked 30 4k mode, I'm going to stick my disk in and pay the £10er to play an upgraded shiny new version of this, i really wasn't expecting a cheap way to get hold of this when the PS5 has been out 3 years now.

Your also getting Mod support with ways to change the game up, extra stuff like lost levels with dev commentary, Speed Run modes where you can rerun sections with tracked times, A rouge like horde mode called No Return, and a documentary on the last of us 2's development coming at a later date.

I think the goodwill of the previous 60fps PS5 upgrade has robbed this of some impact. But for a tenner I'll be upgrading.

Yep, as a cheap upgrade it just about passes muster but as a new release it's something that clearly exists for the sake of the eventual PC port. It's pretty much just another patch to the original game, hence why it doesn't have its own trophy list.

It'll be nice in general to revisit the game again though, this slight carrot has kept me off starting a second playthrough for a while now.

I don't really understand how they are framing this as a remaster. I watched the entire digital foundry analysis through squinted eyes and came away slightly baffled.

the differences in performance and fidelity are miniscule compared to the patched title offering 60fps on PS5... Really the £10 upgrade fee is more about the new mode that's been added.

Given they just added arguably an even better DLC mode to Ragnarok a month ago why did this even need to get a re-release?

I think the correct option would have been to release it as a new DLC mode and not bother with graphical tweaks. Whether that costs anything to the consumer is up to them.

Still, overall it is still the best way to play the game and the fee isn't a total rip off... but it's a weird proposition overall.

Neon try bringing some of the positivity you bring to other threads to this one, you don't always have to be negative and dour

I just can't get on board with the markets very pro-PS5 mantra. It's literally their lowest effort line up and system they've done yet, they're really resting on their laurels a lot this gen. Even the Slim's box is a downer, the back has 1 PS3 remake, 2 PS4 games and 1 actual PS5 game on it. We're halfway through the gen!
I'd probably be more concerned about the lack of key first party PSVR2 games are as well if the main console wasn't the same, there's 3 or so exclusives worth keeping an eye on but even then Sony is buying them in.

It's beginning to look like the next 12 months will be a massive indicator for what software momentum the PS5 has for the rest of this gen. Same as every console maker, being the top dog is always the worst position for the consumer.

Saturn, Dreamcast, Xbox 360, GameCube, Nintendo 64, PlayStation 3 - Kings of the Underdogs

                          Underdogs this isn't the 90s

                          2024 market caps

                          Nintendo $62 B
                          Sony $120.56 B
                          Meta $939.38 B
                          Microsoft $2.885 T
                          Apple $2.809 T

Just at least try and be positive once in a while, I don't listen to anything you say in here as I know it's always going to come from a place of overwhelming negativity and bias.

It's not really a case of bias more the absence of things to look forward to that Sony is giving out this gen, my own issues with Sony are very PS5 era specific.

I struggled with the Switch largely from 2020-2022 due to it not delivering the kind of titles I was interested in (though to be fair to Nintendo it wasn't through choosing not to release stuff) whilst we've almost all spent every single year since 2013 berating Microsofts handling and offerings for Xbox.

There's genuinely a very real chance that MS and Nintendo will each put out more games for their systems this year than Sony has for the PS5 this entire generation. I'd be very happy to be positive about some PS5 games/news but before that Sony has to reveal something that warrants it.

I just often come around to to what are Sony doing that would warrant positivity?
I'm not even remotely pushing for debate here, I genuinely wonder why the publics thirst for the system is so relentless when there's so little return for it compared to their past systems. Historically the market has tended to be punishing to complacent frontrunners but this gen they have unstoppable momentum for a system that has hardly any usp. It's a fascinating insight into PlayStation - the brand - at the least.

A leaked dev build has had assets injected into it from the PS version, some visual quirks exist but the dev build for PC has been made complete to the poin that the entire game is playable on PC now.
