If you've downloaded music off iTunes, then the music will have covers in it already. It gets embedded in the mp3 (i think!).

Otherwise you can select Download Album Art from one of the menus in iTunes. And theres also an option to automatically populate album art, somewhere.

If all that fails (which it often does) then go over to amazon.com/wherever, download an image. Then right click on the file(s) and select Get Info, then drag/drop the album art onto the square and OK it. It'll then update the file(s) with the album art all nice for you in coverflow.

Thanks for the swift reply matey. Any idea where the option is on itunes to download artwork, never really used the store before as all my music is just ripped cd's.

You don't even have to save album art from the internet if iTunes can't find it, just drag and drop the jpeg from the net into the required section and it does it automaically for you.

3rd ipod in 4 yrs finally died on me last week. Not going to replace it and im going to wipe my hd of music at the weekend. 90% of my music was from my cd collection and the other stuff ive burned. Lost my patience with mp3 players. Back to cd and vinyl for me.

Got a 80GB Classic a few days back as my 3G one died on me after 2 faithful years

So far I'm liking it a lot, compared to the black and white screen of before, but it does seem to be a bit sluggish when scrolling through music, accessing different options, and for the album art to load up, but I'm sure it can all be sorted with a firmware update.

Also, there seems to be a different sorting structure compared to iTunes, particularly the sorting of the Cover Flow, which seems to be more like an Artist Flow instead of Albums, like I assumed it would be.

And the damned mirror backing is so annoying, I've looked after it since I got it, and have kept it in a case, yet it still has an almighty scratch already

I always tend to get some £1.99 rubber sheath thing off ebay for my iPods. Totally ruins the Apple design but at least they stay scratch free a tad longer. Depends how anal you are about these things I guess

Re the Classic firmware. I guess theres another coming any day now after this bug was found.

Bought me an iPod Touch, jailbroke it too. I'm amazed at how much stuff it can do now - totally blows me away!
I can MSN chat, pop email, add calendar dates, play NES games, change themes, see the weather, use google maps, sniff out wifi spots - there's too much stuff to do!
This really could end up replacing your computer if all you do is surf the web, Facebook, Myspace etc.
