    Hi guys,

After reading everyones comments regarding the Samsung LE26R41B I am now seriously considering picking one up myself....

All I want to know is...will this thing be compatible with the Xbox360 when it comes out and will it support all of the Xbox360s HD display modes?

I don't really have the money to waste if this model isn't going to work with the Xbox360 100%...can anyone enlighten me?

    Thanks guys!

PS, also has anyone found any comparable similarly prices HDTVs?

it'll work fully with 360, its the reason I got mine, infact, its this series of screens that microsoft will be pushing as the official 360 screen. You'll struggle to ind another decent 26" LCD that is HD ready for that price, I did loads of research into it. I got the one with the built in freeview for ?642 from www.soundandvisiononline.com , they were very proffessional and called my to tell me they had got my order and rang me again to tell me they had shipped it.

        Excellent thanks for the advice.

I have taken the HDTV plunge and ordered the LE26R41BDX model (the one with built in Freeview Digital). I took advantage of the "pay nothing for 9 months" offer over on Dabs.com so I get my shiney new widescreen HDTV without having to pay a dime for 3/4 of a year! Plenty of time to get together ?600.

Yay. Only downer is that they don't have any currently in stock...expected next allocation is in 1-2 weeks

I guess the next job is to offload my old JVC 32" CRT widescreen...anyone interested?

          EDIT: Nevermind, got it!

Do you guys with the Samsung watch football on them ? I looked at one the other day and it was horrific, totally unwatchable. The main probelm (i have since been told) is that iit takes the 50hz signal and outputs at 60hz - this explains the 'judder' on the ball when i watched footy on it. I do admit that the HD stuff looked stunning, im sure samsung are using subliminal messaging as i nearly got one, good job i flicked football back on

So how does that work exactly then? Pay 10% now. then pay the other 90% by 9 months time and theres no interest. So your paying 100% of the price overall, nothing extra? Doesnt make sense, whats in it for them?

If thats the case, then I'll buy the 32" one now and pay for it in January easily.

Thats quite worrying. But when Sky get their HD sky box out next year it'll be super fantastic then?

it'll be free until the 9 month, then interest will go bonkers

Yeah, so if it slips someone's mind, they'll be paying for something like 3 years on huge interest

Thats spot on. I paid 10% now (which in my case was ?65 odd) and then I pay the remainder anytime before the 9 months is up...I don't really know what is in it for them TBH?

The only thing to watch is...if you dont pay up within the 9months...you are FORCED to pay the remainder of what you owe at a ridiculous interest rate. So really only take up this kind of offer if you know you will be able to pay it off in 9 months time...

For me...that shouldnt be a problem, so I'm getting a good deal really.

Don't empire direct offer a similar interest deal, where you get 12 months to pay interest free?

Also reguarding both the 26" and 32" Samsung lcd, what is the best way to mount these on a wall, are there any wall mounting kits available for them?

I got mine from dabs that way too.

I've done it before with an iBook I got from them - paid the same price as the Apple Store but got it on a years 0% interest. Seems they've shortened it to 9 months now though, but it's hardly a major bother. They even sent me a reminder 1 month before the big interest started kick in last time too.

Thats rather good then, so just make sure you pay it within the time frame or your ****ed!

                          I might just do that...

I need to make sure I get my student loan and how much I'll be getting over the year as I want a car first so if I get enough, I'll order this and pay it off with my January installment!

Once again, back to the question of viewing distance. I sit 6-8ft away from my screen, so will I have to go for the 26" one or will the 32" be okay? I dont want to buy it and find out that it's just too big and for the smallness of my room.

See, that's why students run up all those debts. The loans are meant to be for food and text books!

I sit about 8ft away and my 32" is great. Now that I've got it I'm happy that I went for it over the 26".
