I didn't even realise you could go component with the PS2, but it seems you can. Thanks, I hope it works.

Hi guys,
I have just recieved my Samsung 26" LCD (built in freeview model) and have set everything up. I have the standard TV and freeview working (picture is not brilliant but I expected that from SD signals).
I have my PAL PS2 connected via RGB SCART and it looks really awful. I have one of the new silver PS2s...I think component is my best bet is it not? Where is the best place to get the right component cables from?
Can't wait to get hold of my Xbox360 though as that was the main reason I went for a HDTV anyway! Roll on December 2nd!

Originally posted by EvilBorisI just bought some cheapy cables from playasia for ?6, they seem to do the job, although the quality seems to very between games alot. God of war looked like butt through 480p, but tekken 5 looked crisper than a burnt bit of coal. Okami looked fine, even in 480i and Lifeline is a little blurry.cables from play-asia (thought about getting the official sony cables but they were twice the price and I doubt the quality is any better...). I also orderd a component switchbox from play-asia so that I can switch between my PS2 and Xbox360 when it arrives! Yay!

You may prefer to stick with a cheapo one if you only watch 1 film a week or something, you get what you pay for when you get to this end of things though.
