Yeah I'm more siding with it being the source than the screen, but it does the same with my old Sony DVD, but this is not even progressive, so I guess again this is a bad source for a HD screen.

Going to post a couple of picies later on of the effects I am getting, would appreciate folks comments on whether these are the same which they saw through the 360's DVD !

Went in to Dixons today and they were feeding the PGR3 trailer over RF to all the HDTVs. Looked hideous. Then some assistant said not to buy a 360 because they're known to go on fire. XD

That's shockingly bad. I'm sure the customer probably walked out with a PSP/PS2 that was in stock at the time................

On the topic of Dixons, my local one has a Sony Bravia S Series (40" i think) in the window displaying what looks like a HD feed. Some of the stuff demoed on that has really caught my eye, which did surprise me. Needless to say, most of the sets in store are still being fed crappy sources

Do you know if that DVD player you are getting is multiregion, if it is I'm going down to richersounds to get one

If he's getting the HD950, I have the same player. It isn't multiregion to begin with, but Richer Sounds had put a sticker with the region unlock code on the box.

The price instore was ?130 when I bought it but I took a printout of the website so they took the ?10 off.

Any chance you could PM me the region unlock code, and how you go about applying it, would think Boris would like the same as well Thanks !

Much happier with the TV now. Had a good few hours to just sit back and watch it while Disco took the 360 for a spin over the weekend, and have to say that it is now blowing me away for both picture and sound. Watching a full run through of the Kameo demo looked and sounded spectacular, and removed alot of my worries over the screen. I'm also starting to know doubt that the dead/bright pixel I spotted on the first day is actually there ! I have been unable to see it at all during general use, even on the black loading screens for PGR 3. Don't think I'm going to bother checking again with the PSP images, at least until after crimbo, as I just wanna enjoy my new baby now without worry until the new year.

I'm avoiding playing DVD's atm though (with the exception of Toy story 2, which looks sublime even through the 360) as this was what was depressing me about the screen ! It would seem that it is the 360 is causing all of the probs, as the effect I have been finding are exactly the same of those shown here http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=275163 with the excessive amount of screen noise, and that horrible green tinge to all of the black areas ! Is that solarisation ?

After good impressions from PeteJ, Rossco, Shakey Jake et al I recently ordered the LG 26LX2R after returning the faulty Samsung LE26 to play.

It came today and I'm very impressed with it. Good output through component, good output through VGA and stunning output through DVI VGA. No dead pixels either.

Games in 480p do look slightly blocky to an extent, but I'd imagine that's down to the fact the system's native resolution is far higher.

If you're not bothered about VGA, then I'd go for the Panny. I really wanted that telly, but the lack of VGA stopped me from buying it. There's some pics of it in action with a 360 (I assume your main reason for getting one?) and it looks abolutely superb. I'm also a big fan of the styling compared to the Sony, although having said that, either set will be superb.
