I could have gotten that model of Trinitron in Pearl White (the plastic surrounding the I/O on the front was red) at a car boot for a fiver a while back.

My biggest regret is that I didn't.

I'm 99% sure my Nan has a white one in one of the spare bedrooms in her house!

All except the two Kunio titles were my brothers, which I've now decided to keep.

the sony-kv-14lm1 trinitrion wega, has the best image quality I have seen - pure flat screen and colours and detail so vibrant I sometimes i have to pinch myself that its not running in vga.

I like a monitor with a bit of a bulge.. Dunno why, nostalgia I guess.

Never owned a Trinitron before and the picture quality is amazing. Don't think there's any better option if you're talking RGB SCART consoles.

A question for Trinitron experts: how do you access the service menu? There's loads of overscan on the left-hand side, and I'd like to adjust that if possible...

lol - i love the pics of you showing off your most expensive MD carts ;-)

Great buy Phar. I've been wanting to play Lickle for ages but never got round to picking up a copy. Armadillo is slowdown hell though!

This arrived a few days ago, thought I'd post it up. Mainly bought it for the (tenuous) Wolf 3D connection and because of its early gameplay innovations. It's only the second Apple II game I own.

Cheers, yeah Lickles a great game, really impressed with the detail and animation in this, probably some of the best I've seen on the Famicom. Haven't had much chance to play Armadillo yet other than the first few levels so not noticed any slowdown yet, seems decent platformer though with some Mario 3 influences.

Is Apple II expensive to collect for? , got the urge to pick up a retro computer of some sort , i've mainly been looking at MSX and PC-98 but the prices have put me off a bit.

Early Apple II models can go for a lot otherwise waiting for a good deal on a plus or a IIe shouldn't be too hard... if you were in the US! Might take a while over here even if you want a European version.

As for games... yeah I'd say fairly expensive with lots of over inflated prices and auctions where you def have a few people to compete against. Even something like Lode Runner isn't that cheap or easy to get in good condition from ebay. Early Sierra stuff - yikes.

Here's an example of an auction from a year ago (leftover in my Jbidwatcher list) for an incomplete Ultima 2nd release for $375.

Basically almost everything else I've after has gone over what I'm prepared to pay in the last couple of years. Whether it's $30 or $300, it's usually too much! Some of the other interesting games like Wasteland and Sundog I've just picked up for other systems.

Interesting, i've been scoping out classic Apples recently, I understand the LC line can emulate Apple II with an expansion card, but can it run IIgs software, in fact is the actual IIgs the only Apple system that can run it's specific softs?

You need a real IIGS to run the software or for the relatively few games that were designed for it. Or emulation.

That Ultima is crazy money, sounds similar to the FM Towns, loads of titles which are easily available on other systems but can end up costing you a small fortune for that systems version.

                              This arrived today.

I received my consolized MVS from Analogue Interactive toady! Woohoo! It's gorgeous. The machine is so sturdy and beautifully finished. By happy coincidence my recently purchased copy of Blazing Star arrived as well.

BUT I don't have a controller to use with it.
                                Hurry up mister postman.
