Quite an investment... but people are spending such cash just to get consoles like the MD and NeoGeo looking spiffy on their sets - these things have scalers designed purely to deinterlace and rescale video games, as opposed to the all-purpose scalers in TV's. It looks better, though I'm not convinced it's ?200 worth better... good ol' RGB Scart looks good enough to me.

Curious, does it do the same through other connections like S-Video, Composite or RF?

Yeah, S-Vidoe, RGB, same skipping motion, really strange...

Might wanna post a topic in the DLP section of AVForums, there's more likely to be people there with the same set as you who might be able to offer a solution.

The really odd one is PAL Puzzle Fighter, which ****s up in 60hz even though the conversion was the usual bordered Capcom trash.

Sorry to quote an old post, but you can correct the problem with PAL Puzzle Fighter at 60hz. The reason being the game has an internal screen alignment option, pause the game while playing to access it.

I had the same problem with my PAL copy at 60hz till I discovered the option.

The wife is off work ill today and spent most of the time on the couch asleep, so its was Saturn day today on the big television, managed to play some of the games i'd never touched and here are my impressions and some points about specific games that i had a wee go of

            Dynamite Deka
This game is excellent - looks okay, guess it looked great in the day, but very fun, you can do loads of grapples and even had QTE events, shame it always shows a picture of a red button and its just guesswork if you push the right one

            Dungeons and dragons collection
tower of doom is pretty mediocre but shadow over mystara is very good, but loading times are an absolute pain

            Astra Superstars
what a brilliant game, very simplistic which lovely graphics and huge sprites - i was even turned into a flower by another character and fought a person called Lettuce - the supers are incredible

            Crows
Weird fighter but if the characters werent 'squashed' i dont think it would be half as good, not bad but i've definately played better

            Bubble Symphony
What more can i say - its bubble bobble at the end of the day, plays perfect and it was one of the games i had on for a few hours without turning it off

            Dracula X
Firstly was Circle of the moon on the GBA a remake of this?, very good nevertheless and plays much better than the GBA version if its the same

            Streetfighter Zero 3
PLayed it many times before but i never actually played the part called dramatic battle, chose tp play against 2 cpu characters and its was fun but quite frantic

            Final fight revenge
well, what can we say - looks awful, all the characters are the same size which makes the bigger ones (hagger) look squashed, played firstly with cody and it was pish, tried guy and the game became a little better - what was good thou was the supers, 1 girl kissed you and you saw little anime pictures of her before she battered you and el gado went through a series of body breaks (neck, arms, leg and back) before battering you, much the same as romeo must die with the skeleton scenes - but overall not a great game

            Gals Panic SS
Love the arcade version and even thou this is suited for a younger generation its much much better, just an excellent game

            Tenchi wo Kurau 2
Bought this because Wheelaa said it was very good and happily its pretty good, its definately better than D&D: tower of doom but its not better than Shadow over mystara, great the way you actually start the game on horseback - lovely scrolling fighter

Hi Jase, Dracula X is the Jpn SS version of SOTN, but it has two extra areas and unlockables (characters) Maria.

Hi, I got a saturn recently and thought I should post this here so I just signed up.

Anyway I just got a pal copy of In The Hunt and it works, but ONLY if I have no joypad in the machine when i boot it up, if i leave the controller plugged in the game just sticks on the black screen after the deloper logo, so If you have it, try unplugging your pad until the intro sequence appears... I know it sounds really weird, but it does work (for my copy anyway).

I also got X-men Vs. Street Fighter but it won't work with my action replay and my cartrdige is not the same one as they show you how to solder at shin force, this one is completely different inside.... so what should I do? anyone have any ideas?

Is your cart a proper action replay cart? i.e does it have the sticker and pc input on it? If not, I think your cart doesnt have the 4mb RAM so XM vs SF will not work.

Ive hear many strange things about in the hunt so this doesnt sound wierd to me

if it's the blank white one it won't have the ram...

don't forget that the memory mentioned is for game saving, not capcom/snk ram unless this is specifically stated.

Blank white cart is a ripoff, I've been ripped off with one ages ago.

You need the EMS action replay 4-1.

How is Shinrei Jusatsushi Taromaru (sp?) - seems to be topping the ?200 mark now, which is way, way out of my league; was just wondering if it's actually a good game?
