Impractical lightsaber. Looks okay. It's a very, very early teaser and seems that way. Still, at least they're avoiding the big hype of the AMAZING trailer followed by crushing disappointment. That's a plus. Would have liked to have seen some familiar faces.

Well swords normaly have hilts on them to protect you hands so maybe this is why there is a hilt on this lightsaber. I'm sure the net is up in arms about it though.

Gave me chills! But yeah, the lightsaber looked like it had a Blade-style booby trap fitted that had been activated!

I loved it. I love the design of the Saber with the hilt, really reminds me of Sith from the comics and that's only a good thing from my point of view! The more this takes influences from the comics and KOTOR the better!

If it's not you know its not real right and they could pretty much do anything they want as a laser sword - liking the claymore style

Sure, it's not real and they can do what they want. Like shoes made from marshmallows - also impractical.

All things considered, especially as there's so little footage to it, it seems like they're doing a good job of retaining enough feel of the original trilogy to make this feel like it fits more than the Prequels did. Cautiously optimistic. If Abrams pulls this off after his success with Star Trek, he'll walk on water to studio heads everywhere.

Looking good to me. It has that classic look in many areas, most notably the X wing pilots. This could be good as long as they keep the camera shake crap down to a minimum. I hate in modern movies the way you can't see what the he'll is going on because the camera just won't stay still.

It's just a CGI fest, the best thing about it is the JW score. I'm just waiting for an epic bad guy like Darth Vader and Maul.

Love the imperial probe droid chirping at the beginning, oh and the speeder bike too!


Could the cloaked guy with the excalibur type light sabre, be skywalker turned to the dark side?
Could the storm trooper at the beginning be a rebel infiltrator who was on the cargo ship which you see later in the trailer?
