The more I watch it, the more I'm excited by it. The new designs are superb while retaining the feel of the films, unlike those ****ty clone troopers.

Rumours on the sith are thats its an old lord woken from stasis, hence the older style lightsaber.Last edited by fishbowlhead; 29-11-2014, 08:43.

But I can't remember Luke's lighsabre on hoth looking as crackly as that but it might have not been a consideration back in the day

Thing is, if it is an old lord woken up after being in stasis for a long time, given the info from KOTOR and that period, games etc, it would make absolute mincemeat of the jedis in lukes period, including lucky luke himself.
So it would be interesting to see how they would stop someone that powerful, to put it in perspective, palpatine and vader probably wouldn't even survive the sith academy let alone live long enough to become a lord against the old ones.
Would be very cool if it was Revan.Last edited by fishbowlhead; 29-11-2014, 11:58.

If I remember correctly, sometime around when Rebels was announced, they said that only the movies and modern TV shows (Clone Wars and Rebels) are canon but that they could also take and refit ideas from other sources (Rebels has elements that began in EU form apparently) so it would be possible. I reckon probably unlikely as they'll want to keep the movies clean and new and unique but it's certainly possible.

Above all else, I came away thinking "yep, looks like a Star Wars film".
That didn't apply to most stuff concerning the prequels.
I've often wondered if, with the prequels, Lucas really felt that Star Wars needed all this extra stuff they added to the visual style of the series, because people would be somehow bored with the style of the originals. I think he forgot that we have the rest of human endeavour to look at if we want something else.

Following on from yesterday’s teaser trailer release, two key questions about it have now been answered and one has been raised. First up, one question that has come up has been who is providing the trailer’s narration at the beginning. While the voice does sound like Benedict Cumberbatch channeling his Smaug work in “The Hobbit” […]
Sections of the film were filmed in Imax and some of the trailer shots may be in that format it seems. Also, the narration voice is Andy Serkis whilst the music is part of the new score by John Williams.
A still from the trailer in a wider shot:
