Been listening to the new Pearl Jam track The Fixer. New album only a couple of weeks away!

I've been listening to stupid amounts of new Jay-Z leak - The Blueprint 3. Some stupendous new fun from Hov. I can't get enough of Empire State Of Mind, and The Neptunes have sprinkled their pixie dust all over the awesome So Ambitious. Real As It Gets with Young Jeezy is excellent too. I'm also really enjoying the shout-out-tastic A Star Is Born. Sounds of the most confident man in modern pop music.

Kanye's all over this album, and Timbaland's given the short straw.

Ricky Gervias, Steve Merchant and Karl Pilkington's 'guide to...' series. I love them.

They any good hools old boy? I thought the guys had gone *slightly* off the boil, feeling a bit scripted and Karl just purposefully saying stupid things for comedic effect as opposed to actually being stupid and saying things honestly, with no intention of being funny.

Yeah, well worth it. It's structured in a way i.e There's an introduction by Ricky who pitches the session like an academic discussion... introducing himself, then Steve "graduating with honours, award winning writers" etc, then he gets to Karl and you can probably guess the rest Then they raise a topic to do with the Arts, Medicine, the English etc (depending on the episode you listen to) and they tuck in setting up Karl for ridiculous reactions.

I love them. Currently giving them all a second listen. Each is just under an hour.

Just finished listening to the 'Fear is on Our Side' by I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness. I wish they'd hurry up and bring out a new album.

Also been on a bit of a Siouxsie and the Banshees kick this evening. Just listened to Kaleidoscope and Juju (my favourite) back to back.

Jamie T - Kings and Queens.
His sound and writing has matured, I only gave him lip service on the last album.
This release shows he will be great one day.

I just listened to 30 seconds of the album that won the mercury music prize, not sure if you can judge something is utter ****e in such a short space of time but happy to go with my hunch and flip back to the rather excellent new Rodrigo y Gabriela cd.

And a few Yo La Tengo albums earlier in the evening. Still waiting for the new one to come in the post.
