It apparently takes place after Macross 7, but ive read somewhere that its a unique story itself. So you should be able to enjoy it. I recommend picking up Macross Plus if you haven't seen one before, its probably one of the greatest ovas/movies of all time. Well to me it is anyway.

Macross Zero is a great little series also

I really do need to find a bundle that contains everything from the Robotech/Macross universes.

            Regarding geass ep:

I think it's more likely either the emperor or Suzaku(*spit*) did something to him that made him lose his memories so they could try and capture C.C. No doubt we'll be plagued through the series as to what happened after the shoot-out with Suzaku(*spit*).

New Op and ED are **** though.

Kurenai ep 1: Hmm. I went into this thinking I knew what to expect from the manga but it's almost completely different. Op is dire since I don't like the visual style but overall it's quite an interesting set-up to the series.

Nanoha A's: What a nifty little series. Nice and short but didn't feel overly rushed and didn't leave any loose ends which is a surprise.

Edit: To Love Ru ep 1 - I went with Ayako's subs so if anyone tried the other subber could you yell about how they seemed?

Anyway, the show itself, fairly accurate to the manga. I don't get the whole picky really female sounding voices for male leads at the moment though. It kinda works but kinda doesn't. Haruno's is the only one I think doesn't work. Besides that, it's fairly standard stuff. Tamer than Kanokon but still with fan service. Animation looks a bit rough as well but not unbearable. Just noticable from all the HD stuff.

Ive started watching Gigantic Formula, starts off really weird with strange character designs. But after a few episodes it started to shine focusing on the plights of the various pilots, really deep and full of drama. Wonderful music too. Im up to episode 11 and Im loving it.

The less said about Kanokon the better, jesus the guy looks like hes 10. Really really ecchi. I didn't mind To Love Ru, nothing special so far but we will just have to wait and see.

I watched Druaga too, thought it was preety rubbish tbh. But the tentacle piss take had me laughing out loud.

woo, i love when a new season starts, so many new shows to get stuck into

                Code Geass R2:

a nice opening ep, nice nod back to the original first ep as they re-introduce the characters ready to plow into the second series. The whole sudden apearance of his so called brother has thrown me tho, cant tell if he actually is his brother or something to do with the fake memories

                Kure-nai:

again another nice first ep, seems interesting and shows alot of promise, some interesting elements in there, like the whole live with / protect a 7 year old royal girl, as well as the hinted oddities with his body and so on, should make for an intresting

Code Geass R2 ep1 - nice return, already some nice karen fan service .

Had me wondering wtf was going at the start and i have no doubt its gonna be a fair few episodes before we find out why Suzaku let him live as if its just to capture C.C. would seem weird as Zero was far more dangerous, plus of course his burning revenge(maybe his Geass hit everyone and decided to cool things down for while??? but that wouldn't explain his surveillance).

Looks to be alot more action which is a shame, i liked the build up to his plans and the suspense of him keeping his identity a secret.

Kanokan ep1 - wow, its just as you lot said. Totally over the top filth for the not very high school looking students(very manabi like) , my replacement for R+V and it already seems a million times better. GOOOooo Yoshida!

Kurenai - My favourite so far from the new stuff. I like almost everything about it, apart from some of the VA choices which I'll probably get used to. The visuals remind me of a show, particularly the girls, which I can't quite put my finger on at the moment. It looks nice, sounds nice and I love the pace and atmosphere. There's already hints of some stuff lurking beneath the surface so to speak. The whole setup of the show so far takes me back to Ai****eruze Baby, although much darker in tone obviously. In short, I think it's great.

To-Love-Ru - I think I'll probably just file this under guilty pleasure. Not really too much to say about this other than I'm a bit disappointed but... eh... knowing myself I'll probably be in it till the end.

Itazura Na Kiss - Well I've seen the taiwanese drama that was adapted from the same manga and it shows. This first episode was almost exactly as I remember the beginning of the drama to be. I liked the drama and I liked this, although it'll probably be a lower priority show for me since I'll have probably seen most of it already. One for the shoujo fans methinks.

looks like it, they've released 18 so far.
but it seems like ages since i last saw it.
great show though, so i hope they finish it.

Soul Eater ep1 - No sub yet but I couldn't help watching the raw. Visually it's fantastic, really captures the spirit of the manga. Aurally it's a bit of a mixed bag, I've already heard the complaints about Maaka's VA so perhaps I was biased whilst watching but I was left wishing they'd picked a more experienced VA. Oh well maybe there is some improvement in that regard in later episodes but it'd be a shame for some poor VA work to "ruin" what is a lovely looking show. Surprisingly I grew to like Soul's VA who I initially didn't like from the trailer so hopefully the same happens with Maaka's. I loved the OP and ED visuals as well (OP moreso) the songs themselves... maybe they'll grow on me.

It looks like the next two episodes will be the remaining prologue chapters so we'll get to the proper start at around episode 4. I hope they can keep up the animation standard because I can see this being quite big as it is, so it would be great to have that sort of animation to go with it. All in all, I think they've just about nailed the adaptation (apart from one or two nitpicky issues I suppose). Definitely in this for the long run and I suspect other fans of shounen may want to check it out.

Yay, 'holic ep 1. Shame about the subber but myeh. Still with the over the top Clamp style which I like but I'm a bit surprised by their choice for the first episode. Can't complain though since it's one of the two best stories in the series. Pretty much identical in style and music to the first series so nothing much to say. Op and ed are a bit meh. It's good to have more animated 'holic though.

Edit: I'd heard about Maka's VA being a bit...iffy since it's her first series but from the clips I've heard from the trailer, it does suit the character. Hopefully she'll grow into the role more.

Edit 2: Gave in and starting watching the RAW. I can see why there's been complaints. She sort of switches between doing some lines really well and doing some lines with absolutely 0 emotion to fit the scene, in particular

hearing her give half-hearted yelps at the fight near the start was a bit saddening

. Other than that, I'm liking the rest of it.
