I think it happens to the maid in Kuro ****suji.
It's supposed to represent the guy getting an erection so I don't quite see it being sexist, just simple biology.

What I meant by sexist is that it tends to happen to the guys when they see a naked girl of some degree. As for it representing an errection, does the maid in Kuro ****suji get a boner or something?

I just thought a massive nose bleed meant that the sudden shock of a naked body was too much to bare for a guy.

I think it's supposed to signify that their hearts are pounding and blood pressure is increased. It's just become warped over time.

There's lots of weird things like this in Japanese culture. Dreaming about eagles, eggplants and Mt. Fuji on new years, sneezing when someone's talking about you, stupid people not catching colds.

Gundam Unicorn ova1 - Now this is more like it, the animation on everything puts even Macross's latest to shame, the art is a blend of classic gundam/90's faces with out the clone face **** from Seed and 00 plus we get good old Fed vs Zeon. Being i've never read the manga this is based on it's all new to me from the

adult puru clone(f'yeah) to the name dropping of former heroes/villians and battles completed with a cliffhanger of Unicorn powering up, not a big fan of yet another teenage main lead but then that is Gundam to it's core really

. A must for any mecha/gundam fan, 1hr that went way to fast .

I just watched Gundam Unicorn 01, i then just read that ova 2 will be out in Autumn . . .





Aaaaaaaargh god dammit Bandai i cant wait that long, it also means its gonna take like 3 years to finish all 6 eps.

The first ep was amazing tho. Brilliant art style in the form of a sort of modernisation of the classic UC gundam style (they even managed to make the silly gasmask zaku replacements from the later UC series look good). Amazing animation, great sound and a good start to the story.

Nice to see the Puru clone in there already (she's puru 12 i think, makes you wonder what happened to the other 9, well 8 if you count that one that turns up in the gundam evolve short). Bit disappointed she's taking after puru 2's personality, would have been interesting to see her take a different slant on the puru personality rather than one that's already been done. Was also nice that her unit is a clear nod to the NZ-000 Queen Mansa that Puru 2 pilots at the end of ZZ.

Also quite nice to see that despite it being another teenage protagonist he doesn't (so far) seem to be a whining douche that the vast majority tend to start out as.

hehe a quick google has just confirmed my suspicions about Audrey, i suspected she was a clone of Mineva Zabi turns out she's the real deal.

Would be quite nice if we got a few cameos from some of the UC characters that should still be hanging around, but not at the expense of cheapening the ova's.

Been a while...

Gundam Unicorn was excellent. It's going to be like following Gunbuster 2 all over again. The excitement of a new episode and then the despair at the long wait till the next one Looks like I'll be in it for the long haul though.

Random question: Is Fate: Stay Night any good? It's slowly trickling out on dvd here and it seems pretty cheap on Amazon...

It has a big following but I can't say I've ever watched a single ep.

Its an abridge version of the games so bits are missing, characters get sidelined, sex scenes changed to "SHARING DRAGON POWER" by hugging and plot is changed. Starts of slow, its one of those that early on promises the main lead Shiro might actually do something other than get his ass kicked, but its kinder of understandable he's a powerless noobie, fighting against historic Heroes and there trained masters(casting magic usually) and is key to a certain other character being kickass.

Doesn't pickup till Berserker turns up half way through and then followed by a powerful Archer-type servant. Most of the fun is watching to find out who these heroes are suppose to be in a former life and watch the begining's Shiro becoming a trained Mage/Hero.

I still ****ing hate Shirou. It's getting an alternate adaptation next season isn't it? For Unlimited Blade Works?

Unlimited blade works route in the VN been adapted into a film released last month, so we'll see dvd/br rips in 4/5 months time.

I remember enjoying it at the time, especially one or two kickass scenes, which were responsible for words like GAR being coined to describe a particular type of character/emotion which was perfectly embodied by the character(s) in those scenes. Beyond those memorable moments (and the dragon of course!) it hasn't left much of a lasting impression. Then again I've yet to play through the VN and don't consider myself to be much of a type moon fanboy.

In summary: it's decent with some good production values and music (IIRC, it has been a looong time). I've seen much better but also much worse series. [/typical fence-sitting post]

Its funny that Fate Stay Night Should get mentioned as I've just started playing Battle Moon Wars tonight (Super Robot Wars but with Type Moon Characters), decent stuff so far, cant wait to get hold of Shiki (Ryougi).

Anyways FSN isn't bad its just not brilliant either, it gets better once Berserker shows up (as mentioned). Suffers really from being a simplified/cut down version of the VN as well as choosing the 1st "default" route to tell. Which is why UBW should be sooo much better (hopefully).

But like most type moon conversions (Kara no Kyoukai, less so) it suffers from having alot of the interesting background and connections between the various game/novel/etc storylines cut out.

Heard lots of people were really disappointed with the FSN adaptation. It spawned the famous "PEOPLE DIE IF THEY ARE KILLED!" screen cap.

Kemono no Souja Erin ep48-50, been waiting 2 months for SS to finish the last episode so i could watch it all in one go. They nicely tied up all the little twists and traitors at end of the battle and was a welcome comeuppance for a certain evil bastard.

Erin getting the arrow in the back was a "oh ****" moment and forcing Lilan to carry the duke son away leaving her to die.. they certinly kept me guessing how Erin would get out of it, i thought she'd use the beast whistle to knock them out now she cared about staying alive to find happiness, but they had Lilan come back to save her without being forced to after a much frayed friendship during the last arc which made me really happy.

the wrap up after the fight really could have done with another episode, but im just thankful we got something. The only characters to get in where Posion man turned goodguy, the new King/Queen and of course Erin maturing like her mom by becoming one(i assume with Iaru). Seems like they went back to the beast centre but we got to see none of the other characters, the idiot brothers or any afters with the mist people. One thing i really wanted to happen was Erin returning the Toda village where it all began to mainly see her childhood friends, i think that could have been pretty emotional.
