Gurren-Lagann ep14-15, got down to watching anom's sub(from 4chan) and there not bad. Anyway its worth getting ep15 mkv from them as it proper fking epic, the fight at the end gave me goosebumps

Loved it when broke there way through to the palace, followed up by a kickass fight, and then Spiral King total badass moment stepping out of his Gurren to beat the snot out of simon...

sadly its a recap ep next and then most likely from the promotional art work i've seen... timeskip!!

Heh. I've been watching anon's since the beginning. Tbh of the speedsubs there were originally, anon and nyoron, I've always preferred anon's.

Ep 15 was bloody great, almost nonstop action. The episode just flew by. Loved the big fight too, up there with the best the series has had to offer if not the best.

Wonder if this will mean Viral joins their side. I had suspected he might do, due to the way he'd been thinking a few episodes back in that fight with Simon. Time will tell I guess.

Really looking forward to the next proper episode now, can't wait to see how everyone is post timeskip. Just a shame about the recap ep coming up really. Kind of ruins the flow.

Lucky Star ep 13 - enjoyed that as per usual, particularly grinned at the Keroro links in the episode e.g. in the next ep preview and the ED was just... seems like another similar one for the next ep too.

Edit: Also forgot to mention I'm still enjoying Overdrive. I love Shinozaki. He's so stupid it's hilarious but at the same time he can be quite thoughtful and sweet towards Fukuzawa(as evidenced by the recent episodes). Things get a little bit more serious in the recent episodes too

I liked the fact that he wasn't able to beat Kurosuke in that little race, even with all his determination and effort and GUTS! Especially since he'd only just started cycling, shows he still has a ways to go

Aye Overdrive is really good. You can't help but like Shinozaki's utter rubbishness.

Had a look at some of the newer stuff that's been released today:
Doujin Work: Seems enjoyable, couple of decent bits of humour. Bit short though per episode.

Sky Girls: I'm surprised, it's not as bad as the ova was originally. Maybe it's because this time they have an entire series to do what a 40 minute ova couldn't do. The characters still look a wee bit too young.

Zombie Loan: Hmm. I doubt I'll like this but mainly because of the voice actors. It's got bloody Shinn Asuka from Gundam SEED Destiny who I really don't like and the female lead is a bit too whiny as well. I'll see how it goes.

Nanatsuiro Drops: Argh! Sugary sweet and a half! Looks like a typical magical girl anime really.

Come on subs of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei!

Tengen Toppa 15 - The only thing bad about this ep was the next episode clips, looks like its going to be a "whats happened so far" episode.

Awesome fight between Simon's Lagann and the Siral Kings Rasengan. From what the Spiral King was saying im guessing that something happened in the past that made the galactic council (mentioned in the first episode) deemed Humans dangerous and the reason the Spiral King was keeping them all underground was to keep them hidden from the Galactic Council...or something like that. Man we Humans are always causing trouble

Yeah. Sounds like one of the most interesting shows from the summer lineup. I hear afk will be subbing it so hopefully they can keep to a similar sort of release rate as lucky star/haruhi.

Finally got round to watching it(ended up watching new overdrive and StrikerS first), still got that magic comedy that made the 1st season excellent, Saito getting stuck with the pervert mask = and i always, always love Louise's stutter. Anyone know how long this, is 13 or 26eps?

Only 12. Still as long as it keeps the comedy up like that I don't mind.

finished up nodame contabile the other day, really enjoyed this show. was a bit sad to see it end, but everything got tied up quite nicely.

                  doujin work!
watched the first episode today too and its pretty good. about a girl who decides to make her fortune by creating a doujin book after helping her friend at a comicon. only a short 15min show too. i thought it was funny, worth checking out i say.

also saw the first zombie loan, but i'm not convinced yet. but very little plot was given away so i might have a look at the next.

Zero No Tsukaima season 2 ep 1 - Great to have it back. Loved the first episode. More of the same really which is no bad thing. Looking forward to the introduction of some of the new characters.

Had a look at the first ep of School Days. Seems like a typical teen romance type series with some humour in it. Reasonabley decent first ep really but I have a secret liking for stuff like this. :P

I would take second look at School Days if where you . All i'll say is, if this goes they way of the game and the OVA... expect gore and buckets loads of angst and plenty of bullying/entrapment... psycho kaede got nothing on these lot.

Enjoyed the 1st episode. I'm actually hoping they make a good ending for once, the OVA had a 'bad ending' and the game has crap loads of bad endings, and the the so called good ending's ain't that great either.

Oooh, that makes it even more interesting now! I loved the psycho Kaede stuff from Shuffle. I did hear about the bad ending but I assumed it was something like the main characters all dying or something like that. I read that they've not even decided what ending they're going to use for it yet either.

More new stuff! Moetan episode 1: It's bad but it's good but it's bad. Basically a magical girl series but it pokes fun at the genre so it doesn't end up like Card Captor Sakura or such like. The duck makes the first episode though.

                          Comment

Yeah. The main guy is supposed to be a real bastard too. I'm watching it just for a slightly different take on the school romance thing. As mentioned taking the psycho kaede thing a step further hopefully. Guess I better get on with the first episode.

edit: Good first ep. Moved quite quickly, no messing around it seems which is always nice. Before watching I was hoping for the worst ending imaginable(just for a change) but now that I've seen it I'm kind of hoping for a good ending.

There's some cute school days-related gifs and stuff to be found. Might even steal one for an avatar change.

Zombie Loan ep 1- pretty average really, art is similar to Hitohira (seems to be from the same team). Only one episode in though so it's a bit hard to judge it yet so I'll be giving it a while before deciding on it. Of the new shows I've seen (Zombie loan, school days and znt season 2) it's at the bottom of my list.

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei ep1 - Subs out from a.f.k. All I can say is wow. That looked gorgeous and really unique. Loved the art style, animation and general direction in that episode. The characters also seem different and pretty likable so far. The ones introduced each have their own quirks. Funny episode too (well it had its moments for me)

particularly that bit about Kafuka thinking people were making themselves taller with the rope(whole meeting scene was good IMO) and the bit where he went to the student counsellor about his problems. She also seemed to be enjoying herself a bit too much cleaning her ears. Not to mention that guys face when they were censoring stuff(I'm guessing it's the mangaka or someone involved with the show possibly director?)

Wordplay(with their names and stuff), puns and references on the blackboard (I assume some of them are at least) which seems to be a running theme in SHAFT productions. The teacher himself was as pessimistic as he sounds. Overall, really enjoyed that. I think/hope it will get better as we get accustomed to the characters. I definitely recommend checking out at least one episode especially if you're after something a bit different.

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is pretty good, its screwed up story certainly fits SHAFT's style.

The hanging bit and then the girls 'trying to make yourself taller' bit made me WTF! as well as the nicknames...

certainly going to stick with it for now, even if im still unhappy about how SHAFT messed up Negima in to a parody.
