I downloaded Mononoke (in HD no less) but haven't got round to watching it yet. The art style certainly looks interesting.

I've been busy watching Claymore, which I only just discovered recently. Excellent series, really enjoying it.

Been looking forward to mononoke since it was announced. IMO it was the best of the story arcs from the ayakashi series a while back. Looking forward to watching it in all its HD glory.

You two are in for a real treat. It's just so....odd really. The art style is really unique and puts me in mind of Okami if nothing else as I said. Look forward to hearing your thoughts on it.

Not had a chance to watch Mononoke yet, ended up watching the latest Seirei no Moribito, Doujin Work, kaze no Stigma and Claymore(woot ep18 started the northern campaign, loved it when Flora understimated Clare)

Watched some other new shows as well

Code E - quite enjoyable, though the main guy is an annoying prat im interested in seeing where the story goes with girl electric wave abilities. I'm hoping for some fighting(though unlikely)

Baccano - bejesus the gore in this shocked me, ep1 did nothing but confuse me. Seems the set up is we're veiwing mutliple stories from different characters and different points in the early 20th century(about 1930). The trick seems to be that the main characters are immortal.

That reminds me; are you watching Moetan Tobal? I really have no idea what to make of it! On the one hand it has some extremely stupidly funny moments but on the other it's faaaaaar too disturbing with it loli characters. The opening song is also way too catchy for it's own good as well

Mind you I say that yet I still ended up reading all of Kodomo no Jikan....

Baccano ep 1 - fairly confused after that. And as mentioned plenty of gore to boot. Loved it though, nice animation in places too. Definitely a keeper methinks. Has the potential to be a real epic. Hope they can keep this is up.

Mononoke ep 1 - The look was pretty much what I expected. Very much like the arc in the ayakashi series. Although it is perhaps a little brighter here colour-wise (from what I remember at least). Seems to be as weird and wonderful as that arc too so I'll definitely be keeping up with this. Worth checking out the previous batch of episodes. Look for Ayakashi - Classic Japanese Horror stories or some such. It was an 11 ep series consisting of three unrelated stories each arc lasting a number of episodes. With the last arc being the bakeneko arc which this seems to be carrying on from. I didn't think the other stories were much cop so if you just want to see this get episodes 9-11 of that series.

The summer season is turning out much better than even I had anticipated. A lot of the new shows I've checked out have been good. Although perhaps that's because I've not checked the more fanservicey/loli shows... yet. I suppose potemayo and moetan are next up, as well as Code E and Mushi Uta.

Not bothered with anyof the Loli show this season, mainly cos the great Nanaha StrikerS is still out and the other look like toss.

Gurren Lagann ep19 - Wow, is it possible Rossiu could be the most hated character in anime? he's not far off from Lelouch but everyones loves him, and yet gainex have created a monster! Every time he's on screen i want to punch the bastard. GL continues its good form and hope it never dips, still hoping for a dreamteam of Simon and Viral fighting together might some true in the next few eps.

Also caught up with Towards the Terra and Dark than Black after the subbers i followed dropped the months ago, so spent last week getting up to date. And im glad i have, both shows have been putting out good developed characters and story.

Gurren Lagann ep 19 - Yep. With the situation as it is, it makes it more likely for them to be teaming up so here's hoping. I wish Kittan had actually landed a few of those punches. I think I can pretty much see where this series is going from here. No doubt there'll be a few surprises along the way too. It's going along well so et's hope they don't cock it up towards the end.

Zetsubou sensei ep 4 - my favourite of the series so far. Really enjoyed that. Loved the overactive imaginations of the shopkeepers and the whole portion of the episode involving Mail-chan particularly that Rambo-like part. Good stuff. Interesting new OP video too

Toward the Terra/Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - Really really enjoying these two shows, mainly because they are showing actual character development..ZOMG! (The stories are good too obviously). Thats one thing that has always annoyed me about a lot of anime's, they dont really show the passage of time and things that happen in one episode won't really have any effect later in the timeline.

I can't get enough Claymore at the moment. Awesome show, best thing I've seen in a good while. I'm up to episode 8 now and have the rest of the currently released fansubs already downloaded. Trying not to watch more than 1 per night... want to make this last.

Anyone know how many episodes it will have?

22 is fine. I'd sooner it had a nice tight storyline and great ending, than be stretched paper thin for a hundred more episodes.

Well the manga's far from finished, im guessing the anime will end with the conclusion of the Northern campaign which would be a good place to stop with a cliffhanger until the manga gets done current story arc, but that itself could takes years when it 1 chapter release a month, been at ch73 since june with side story's currently being released. Side story 1 and 2 have be scanlated.

August 6th - Claymore Extra Scene 2 (most of this happens in the anime)
September 3rd - Claymore Extra Scene 3
October 1st or 8th - Claymore Extra Scene 4
Friday November 2th - Claymore Scene 74
Friday December 7th - Claymore Scene 75

Took 7 years to get to where it is today so unless they speed up it'll take another 7 years.
