I'm actually watching Ichigo Mashimaro right now and indeed am loving it. Some stellar voice acting, especially Micchan's voice actress. I believe nobody's touching it because Geneon USA's name is attached to it, despite it not actually being licensed by them (yet).

Completely up to date with One Piece now, just wish they'd hurry up and sub the remaining movies.

A couple of surprise releases of Yakitate! Japan, Monster, and Negima this weekend too. Great time for fansubs.

FMP2 ep5 had a return of the comdey, seems to be more of the same next week to.

anyone know what SaiKano Ova about? i don't know if want to watch it being the tv series just pissed me off totally.

Ooh. Looking forward to catching up on my downloads tonight. I've got two episodes of Eureka7 to watch, Eyeshield 21 episode 14, Bleach 44, Naruto 146, GUn X Sword ep 5, Suzuka ep 6 and some Mahoraba/Da Capo first season to watch. Plenty to keep me going.

Gun X Sword is pretty good as well. Really like the main character, he doesn't seem to want to be the hero and is often reluctant to help out(not that he doesn't help in the end though). Really getting going now as well. Looking forward to finding out the deal with that scar on his body. He does kind of remind of Vash, except he's not as goody-goody as Vash, seems to be a darker version of him.

I'm also watching a show subbed by Soldats, called Keroro Gunso(Sergeant Keroro), which is pretty cool. It's a comedy show about an alien sergeant who is the leader of a squad who are basically the scouts or something for an invasion of Earth. He get's caught by some human kids and finds out that he's been abandoned along with his squad(who are all separated I think) by the rest of their race. Soon finds himself living with the kids and their mum. I really liked the first episode, quite a few LOL moments. Only thing is there's only been 7 episodes subbed out of the 70 or so that have aired. Judging by the release schedule it'll take them 5 years to sub upto episode 70.

I also picked up Ichigo Mashimaro last night, it was fantastic, really loved it. Hopefully Nanashi and AnY will be a bit quicker than just Nanashi on their own. Seems to be so many shows coming out that I must watch plus all the older shows that I'm catching up on thanks to Tobal.

Is Monster worth watching then? I'm pretty much open to any show really, as I know there'll probably be some right gems I've never heard of before(read: Keroro Gunso). So I'm not too bothered by genre. I usually give each series at least 5-10 episodes to impress me(must say Law of Ueki picked up after the really poor first episode and I'm really enjoying it now. Quite similar to Bleach/Naruto/One Piece). Only problem is my download schedule is pretty full so I'm wondering if it is worth taking the time out to download it. Am I right in thinking it's a serious show? As it could make a nice change from the comedies/harem shows I've been watching recently Variety is the spice of life and all that.

Monster had me from the very beginning. It's set in modern day Europe and is a (long) tale about a Japanese neuro-surgeon who ends up having his life turned upside down because he chose to do the right thing. I can't really say much without spoiling the premise but it is a wonderful thriller. My friends who aren't into anime enjoy it because it can be taken seriously from their point of view.

Artwork's not so hot (seems most Europeans in Japanese people's eyes have big noses and goofy looking hair!) but the story is so engrossing that I personally let it pass.

I tried watching monster, got about ep14/15 when subbing from the main groups came none- existant and found myself not caring for the show then subbers finally got going again. I think of it as the 'cracker' of the anime world.

More goodnews shoc have released ch206/207 of gantz and again it totally rocks, i can't help but think its going end up another 'buddha' mission with main characters dying left and right, as the Alien Boss seems on another level compared to his subordinates and previous Alien bosses(although Buddha mission boss is close).

And should they survive this mission, its to much in the publics eye for the 1st time(loads of civey deaths this time) so a big story change is going to to half to happen or at least we'll find out how/why the government knows about gantz and it keeping of things under wraps fromthe public.

If you like Monster I'd recommend reading 20th Century Boys by the same author. It's IMO better than Monster.

I sorta flicked through the Saikano OVA (got the DVD version at home now), but from what I can tell it's an alternate view of the original from the eyes of an earlier "Ultimate" weapon called Mizuki.

And no one should critisise Saikano. NO ONE YA HEAR!

GxS ep5 is pretty good, Ray?s Armor looks well ace and he?s a mean son of bitch just shooting anyone that gets in his way (his personal weapon ain?t bad either)

Suzuka ep6 was a funny one

Didn?t expect him to confess after just 6eps, I was expecting it to get dragged on for good while yet, but not it at least opens the door for the other girl since she blew him off.

I'm enjoying Suzuka much more as a result now for that very reason. Kinda breaks the mould set by other such shows in the genre. There's still at least two girls who haven't been introduced yet according to the end sequence.

Just caught up with most of my downloads. Agreed on GxS 5, Ray seems like a pretty cool addition to the series. Eyeshield21 ep14 was probably the highlight for me. This series just keeps getting better and better. Some very funny moments throughout the ep. Still can't believe Mamori hasn't figured out who Eyeshield is. There was a particularly funny moment when I thought she'd finally worked it out and the reaction from Sena . By the looks of the episode preview though, she finds out in the next one.

edit - nevermind i found out, seems he's using Shrimps translation with a few corrections although i have no idea if he's using a different RAW. He's also used Wannabes OP/ED credits. Might down it, i need more SR.

Just seen Pani Poni Dash, the Oyasumi fansubs version. It's pretty crazy, and in some ways I was reminded of the first episode I saw of Ichigo Mashimaro in that it's very cutesy, especially Rebecca but also quite funny in parts. It's about an 11 year old girl called Rebecca Miyamoto who becomes the teacher of a class having already graduated from MIT or something(she's apparently a genius but has a hard time pronouncing Massachusetts you'll see what I'm on about).

I love the way that the main characters all stand out and are quite brightly coloured where as the rest of the class(the extras that make up the numbers basically) are basically clones and given very dull colouring.

Here's a screenshot from the first episode I saw on another forum. That's rebecca in the pic there, it might be NSFW not sure but there is no nudity in that image(thought I'd edit it this in, just in case). AFAIK two groups have released episode 1 so far, I haven't tried the other version but Oyasumi's is good enough for me.

just recently watched the entire series of gundam seed. i absolutly adored it, i think its possibly my fav gundam series and ive preety much seen them all. just started watching gundam seed destiny, i dont like this new main character. does it get any better and does this new guy get any better.
