I had the same thing selling a Gamecube import a while back. Thought I'd be helpful and warn bidders that it'd only work on a Japanese GC unless you used a Freeloader....did point out that you could legally buy it from HMV but they never bothered to respond

I think they may have some kind of '3 strikes and your out' policy behind the scenes but I'm not 100% certain.
    Well thats something I suppose....

Think your right about a '3 strikes' policy I've listed stuff before with exactly the same description. I've sent them a message basically stating the same thing as you, but I doubt they'll respond.

Ebay's getting more and more of a joke these days when it comes to selling games.

You also cant mention 'chipped' or 'chipping' a console because I got an auction pulled about a yr ago by eBay for that.

        Gah I hate ebay!

I bought a copy of Shadow Dancer for MD months ago from the seller "games-n-console-land" and it was in horrible condition, he never mentioned any of the damage. So I send it back and get a refund minus the postage I bloody paid. So I left a neutral as I thought that was fair, considering the seller was a clown.

So what did he leave me the other day?
"Give me a neutral for something i refunded him on i did the best i could."

        What a tosser, avoid!

I have done, and I've sent him an email regarding it. Clown.

            EDIT:
Hi yes i will retract the feedback, I left negitive because i took a picture of the item which you can see condition. I refunded you to be fair I didn't deserve a netrual either. I will send you a retraction note ok mate.

Yeah but the photo failed to show the damage to the cartridge and manual... Anyway at least it's sorted now.

Just because they issue a refund they think they deserve a positive? Tools.

Interesting.... Bought a DVD boxset last week from eBay. Thing took longer than expected to arrive and when it does, its obviously come from HMV. Looks like this guy is just finding DVDs on sites like HMV, Play, marking them up and putting them for sale under his own name. Then when he gets an order, he just places an order direct with HMV in your name and gets it shipped directly to you.

I've had that a couple of times now. Once an item came from Amazon, and the other time it came from Game. I think it's pretty disgusting that people do that.

Obviously you could say you never got it, and then the onus is on the seller to prove they shipped it, which they can't. You'll get your money back under paypal rules for that.

Not that I'd advise you do that, of course...

isn't it a bit silly of you to pay over the going rate of the item in the first place, why not just check the usual places before bidding on fleabay its not as if game and play are niche sites

Well, there is that... My amazon stuff wasn't gaming related, and it was on offer on Amazon at the time, so fair play to the guy for spotting the deal and capitalising in on it. Still, it makes a bit of a mockery of eBay tbh.

Edit: Oh and in the case of my game that came from Game, I had paid the ebay user £20, and the receipt from game said £40, so I had got it cheaper that the usual places. Odd huh? Few people on his feedback had all commented the same.

Edit2: This was the game's ebay seller. Surprise, surprise, stacks of more negative feedback, and no longer a registered user: http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayIS...ab=AllFeedback

Judging by his more recent feedback (think i may have posted the link after your reply), he seems like I was one of the lucky ones that actually received something.

eBay fraudster gets two years for ?45K of theft and freebies

Don't know about you but I think that's way too lenient a sentence. If you compare his spoils to the jail time it's the equivalent of having earned ?22.5K a year, which is what my girlfriend and I were pulling in together with full-time jobs when we first moved in together He has previous for this too so there's no excuse for him doing it again or getting a lenient warning sentence.

One of the blokes I work with at Royal Mail delivers to a chap who must do this. He gets one or two mail sacks FULL of Play.com and Amazon stuff every single day from Monday to Saturday. I'm talking the big hessian bags used to cart the mail to and from post offices, pillar boxes etc, not the red postie pouches. On a busy day he'll get three or four. And this is to a private home address!

TBH I think people who make a living by peddling stuff on in this way are parasitic scumbags and basically no better than currency speculators and gold exchangers. But that's a whole other thread

So how long do you give sellers to post stuff out and respond to emails these days? I say "these days" because years ago, the people who used eBay had a very high standard of service and you could expect very quick deliveries and excellent communication.

Anyway, I won an auction last Tuesday morning and so far have had nothing from the seller by email or in the post despite me chasing them up.
