paypal advice

Ive recently bought halo3 for an inflated price to get early, paid the guy an extra £5 to have sent special delivery to get too me on the 22nd sept, item never arrived after numerous trys to get the guy to give me special delivery details, i had no chice but to put in dispute/claim via paypal. I did this on sept 27th, on the 28th the guy sent me a recorded delivery of an emptydvd case (which i had today in my mail), to dishonestly get my signature for an item. im guessing hes now given paypal this as a delivery number so it looks like ive had item.

any suggestions on my next steps?

Tell Paypal of this fiendish behavior. All you can do is be honest and hope someone there has the sense to sort thing out for you!

not exactly the best advise but if someone had gone that to me, unless he lived at the other end of the country I would be paying them a little visit.

Have you got his phone number? Ring him and let him know you'll be down during the week to take your Halo,

I dunno really, its a norty trick he has done, is he a verified paypal member? if you paid on your CC, surely you are covered?

I would also advise him you are going to small claims if he doesnt send it.

ive taken a photo of the envelope, showing the recorded delivery number and the white postage label they stick on it, the one instead of stamps which clearly shows the postage date of 28th spetember, and have emailed this to paypal with my claim no.

its a shame as i do believe he posted item but he's obviously pocketed my money for special delivery and just bunged a couple of stamps on it, bleeders and mariomark both got there copy from this guy, and i think mario paid for special but got sent just bog std first class, ive just been unlucky and item went walkies

lives a few hours away, he's pp verified, I paid from my account balance though so no cc fallback .

see what paypal do, in fairness the 2 claims ive done b4 have been in my favour, although nobody ive claimed from has had the cheek to do anything as underhanded as this guy

I don't have a copy of Halo 3 with me, but I'd wager it weighs considerably more than an empty DVD case.

Compare the price of postage on the front, I bet it's less than it should be.
This should prove the game was empty.

Edit- quick test :P
Using kitchen scales, an empty case is under 100G in a jiffy.
Tried a few different games, every single one is over 100G in a jiffy.

The postal stamp will surely indicate a price under 100G (check Royal mail for the postage costs).

Do 'item not as described' and send him a turd back. Make sure you get a tracking reference to give to paypal to show he received something from you.

Guys, I sent a package out to the winner of one of my auctions who lives in Spain three weeks ago tomorrow via first class and for some reason, it still hasn't arrived

How long should I ask him to wait before reimbursing him? The mail's been very funny lately, a package I sent to Belgium arrived after a few days while a package I sent to Germany took over two weeks. Any advice appreciated.

Quick question.. What postal service you guys use when getting stuff over from the US?

Well not you but the seller obviously.. Say for a SNES game, how much should it cost me to get it shipped to me (here in Glasgow) and what service? (cheapest, quickest)

Just sold a Nomad today on ebay. Let it go on auction starting at 99p and ended up on 155 squidos! At first I was well chuffed but Im starting to worry now. The high bidder has zero feedback, the yellow man (which means hes only been on for less than 30 days i think) and the dodgiest name and address I've seen. It says kuwait?! and his name is mohahmed ahmed. Taking the piss? Hes still not replied yet either.

Should i be worried? Any of you guys had a similar experience/bidder?

Just to let you know, surface mail was abolished from the US/Canada to foreign countries about 3 months ago. Only standard airmail and global priority now.
