On a separate note does anyone watch Motors TV on Sky? I get to chance to see it at Prinnys or my Gfs and there is some ace grassroots stuff on. Last night had these mixed races of old fords, minis, bmws. They even cover stuff like RC racing.
I've been watching it a bit more lately as they now have the coverage of the WRC, and it's much more in depth than the hour each rally gets on Dave. They even have parts with no commentary sometimes, just loads of in car footage. Unfortunately the voice over guy is useless and usually sounds like his brain is two seconds behind his mouth (a bit like Jenny Gow).

Used to like their video games show 3D motors too, but I don't think it's on anymore.

I'm a massive fan of Motors TV.

As you say, they cover events that don't get covered by TV media like the classes that are shown in the back of Autosport Magazine. From small Renault Clio Cups in France, The Mazda MX-5 Cup in the UK, Truck Racing across Europe, Trial Bike Racing in Germany, Drifting Events in Japan to tiny Motorbike Racing in godforsaken Circuits!

Although F1 & Moto GP are broadcast by the BBC, ITV show BTCC and Eurosport 2 have WTCC & other Formulas, like you mention, Motors TV have fantastic grass roots events, and show the kind of Motorsport that never gets a regular outing on Sky, Terrestrial or Digital.

They certainly can improve their coverage, commentators of some programs are terrible and listings can go miles out of sync, but their catalogue is so vast and far more diverse and inclusive of Motorsport than Sky or any other broadcaster can muster, that it's essential viewing for any Motorsport fan.

I prefer the budget format of just showing the race with hardly any build up, features or endless talking. WRC coverage for years on the main channels has been like 30 percent actual race footage and the rest waffle.

It was cool last night cos a little old proper mini got lapped by an old Sierra Cosworth and he tried to hang on his tail for a speed boost. Also seen some good classic rallying and the old MX5 stuff was good plus the old Fiesta racing. Oh and some modern watercooled VW racing but one dude was in a van!

And the picture quality is bloody awful. I still feel inspired to try and watch it some more though!

Genius, don't play at work if you are surrounded by people who get offended by the most feeble of swearwords. Love you way Murray just carries on regardless as well. Great days.

Haha. They were great days. Watching the classic F1 races on the red button in the BBC buildup to the races I'm always reminded how brilliant Murray Walker was, his enthusiasm and love of F1 was boundless.

Some weird stuff on motors tv tonight, CPC Legends racing which are like 1930s styled coupes with yamaha bike engines. It showed a clip from the year before when two crashed and full on caught fire.

F1 qualy in just over an hour, looks like pole could go to any of the 5/6 drivers at the top.

Webber might be out of the running, had an engine failure in free practice this morning. We're about to find out if he's had to change it or not...

Gutted for LH. You have to ask just why they changed his setup this week though considering he is right up there fighting for the championship. Obviously it's affected his car and his mental state as that was just a stupid error to kick yourself out the race on lap 1!

F1 on my HDtv even through an SD Sky box looks amazing. I bet it looks awesome in HD.

Except it's not in HD (unless I'm missing something, it's not on BBC HD)

Oh that's a shame. Pity as I would imagine it would look fantastic.

They said they wont change to HD until at least next season as there are literally hundreds of cameras when you think about all the on track cameras then multiple cameras on each car, pit lanes etc and the fact they have to move all these cameras about from country to continent every week! I hope it does change soon though as it would be stunning.

HRT have been fined $20,000 for their pit lane early release. Bloke is... Ok... Fortunately.
