Aye, thats the one. I think you can get it slightly cheap from Digital Rev or One Stop (both HK dealers). But I only work round the corner from my local Calumet. They are a pro dealer but for somethings they are cheaper (price inc Vat!)

An uncharacteristic bit of narcissism from me for once! I've never been one to be photographed (hence the shades) and like I said a few pages back have never done any portraiture either, thought it was time I had a go!

Different shots by the way, not a BW conversion of the first. Now, where's that blushing smilie!

The black and white one is fantastic. Excellent work!

Nice portraits. Think i prefer the light on the first one myself.

Nice shots Alastair, though I prefer the B&W one.

I have changed my forum name as well. Goodbye Peanuts, hello Richard.John

I prefer the BW one too.

              Thanks for the comments guys.

Saw you'd changed your name over at flicker a few days ago as well Richard. Confused me at first but your av there and the Japan'ness of your shots gave it away.

Yeah, I want to create one online identity so it's a start.

I see, it did confuse me a little.

I don't have any photos to upload right now so let's talk straps and bags. I bought an OP/TECH Pro Loop at the weekend.

I am not sure about the 'loop' part as one side of my brain tells me that all that is holding my precious from crashing to the ground is piece of fancy shoestring, yet the logical side of my brain points out that the loop works well and that the company has an excellent reputation and their products wouldn't sell if they were ****e and I am far more likely to drop the camera myself or slip over on banana skin, etc. I have the 3/8 webbing connector if I cave in and get scared.

I also picked up a Tamrac Compact Zoom Pak which I have found to be great as a one lens solution. So what kind of gear are you guys using?

Lowepro slingshot 100 with a lens case 2 attached.

For the strap I just use the standard Canon one, how much more comfortable is the op-tech one?

Standard straps for me. As for bags mainly LowePro.

Nova 1 for my FujiFilm GA645zi
Nova 4 for my 5D kit
Mini Trekker when I go out on a bike ride.
2 Tripod cases for the 2 tripods!
Old jessop one with my Mamiya TLR in. Others have a mixture of crap in them.

A nice collection of bags there GT!

Alastair, the OP/TECH works really well. I was sceptical but it's made of neoprene so makes your gear feel lighter. The company says it will feel 50% lighter and I have to agree. Consider ditching the stock Canon strap as it makes a real difference.

Great job, but dont ya think setting fire to things in the name of art is going a little too far?
