My uncle's a genuine professional photographer and has been for his whole career. At the moment he sells a lot of his work on Alamy, and with his commissions it makes him enough money to support his family.

Here's some of his stuff, and here's his site. The consistent level of quality can be quite sobering when I'm over at his place and he's going through Iview, showing me the stuff that he's shot recently.

Obviously I'm not suggesting that you guys pack in your jobs and do this professionally. No offence, but the level required of that is ridiculously high, and has to be consistently so. At the very least, it's way above anything I could imagine pulling off in my lifetime.

However, some of the stuff in this thread is extremely high quality, and anyway, it could provide a bit of an income boost. That never hurts!

I'm happy for it to fund more lenses! I need a return. Hopefully I'll submit some soon.

        Still needed!

For £74 more Kerso is good choice (cheaper to contact him direct and pay outside ebay/pp). I saved £160 on the cheapest UK web price for my 300mm

          Agreed. Very nice work GT.

I may have to get myself one of those bird feeder things. They look like a perfect photographic accessory.

I went to London on Friday, wasn't a pleasure trip so didn't get the chance for many snaps.

Worth clicking through on that one, it's better larger.

Oh, GT, thanks for pointing me back to Kerso, had forgotten he was that cheap for those lenses now

Thought I'd take of the extender and try.

Yes that's right, back to Goodwood with a mate as we were riding around that area and there just happened to be a Porsche owners club day.

I'll spare you the standard shots but I did try some new things.

A quarter of a quarter of a million pounds:

And a wide angle pan (which looks a lot better large):

Probably of more interest to you lot now though was the beach last night, 'twas a spring tide so a chance to get some less obvious/regular/familiar shots around the wrecked west pier.

I like the birdies boys, I need that L glass.

It's all photoshop dude, the car was actually just parked up!

Seriously, it's all down to a slowish shutter speed and a lot of practice.

Really like the first one - click through for full size versions.

Edit - I'd uploaded the wrong images before - should be right now.

Really liking those flower photos, do you mind if I use the first one as a teaching tool in my science lesson on the parts of a flower?

                                Sure - no problem.

Edit - oh, also spotted the first harlequin ladybird of the year - they're here much earlier in the year than last.

                                Pity they're not eating these:

                                Some cracking bird shots there.

And Alastair, those low light beach shots are fantastic.
