Nostalgia? Greed? Dunno, just tastes better imo.

if you can't get it in Woolworths would say no Dan.

Just had my first crisp since Tuesday, had a proper dosage of man-flu. Cannot think of the last day I went "crisp free".

I for one would be interested if these could be found in the wild.

            Has anybody else tried these?

I had a pack of the Hot Peri-Peri ones from Tescos, and they were absolutely delicious. Apparently there's an Extra Hot variety, but I couldn't find those.

Been keeping an eye open for them ever since saw them on www.snackspot.org.uk weeks ago but have never seen them in Tesco's

Heh, forget the excitement of jiffy bags from play.com this was the haul I purchased one day last week (all were on offer). Almost resulted in divorce from the missus lol.

McCoys are pretty damn awesome, I feel so dirty and used after eating a cheese and onion pack, but the steak ones the best.

                    Fine taste in crisps sir.

Oh, you Brits... you don't know how lucky you are. Try living here in Sweden, snuggled up close to the arctic circle, and you'll recognise true poverty...

This autumn, one of the two dominant crisp manufacturers decided to re-introduce salt & vinegar crisps. We've been deprived of this necessity of life for more than a decade, getting by on imported packs of Walkers in selected pubs every now and then.

And here you are, flaunting your sizzling chili beef, chicken tikka or bacon fries crisps. It makes me salivate uncontrollably. We don't get anything like that here. As I said, count yourselves lucky.

The best I've had all year are these imported "jungle chili plantain chips", some sort of quasi-organic-posh-crisp-thingy: http://www.mexgrocer.com/32697-00021.html

Fantastic stuff. All the savouryness of regular crisps, a fair amount of chili heat, and a hint of sweetness from the plantains. Truly addictive, but unfortunately the local store no longer sells them.

Why is it every quality snack I discover (usually in Tesco) gets discontinued either by the supermarkets or by the manufacturer about three months after I get seriously into them?

The latest victim for Tesco "no stockage" are Dormen's Spiced Nut and Satay Bean Mix. True quality.

If anyone knows where I can get some in time for the Xmas snack-fests, please speak up now!

There's a lot of crisp based exotica flying around in this thread but I think you can't go wrong with cheesy doritos. Also I think Brannigans are better than McCoys.

Brannigans are the best salty snack money can buy.

Indeed, I used to like them in the brown paper bag eventually even they went foil.

Salt & Black Pepper kettle chips = the best in my opinion. Second to the sadly discontinued years ago, Big o's in beef and mustard.
