Amazing that all these new agencies run these stories, and they are based on internet rumours

I didn't want to start a thread for this but if I could have a small moment of your time. I have been involved in raising awareness and funds for a small Japanese girl in need of a heart transplant.

4-year old Haruka Iwa****a has contracted Restrictive Cardiomyopathy, a rare and serious illness requiring her to have a heart transplant. Because children under 15 years of age cannot be organ donors in Japan, the only option is to travel to Loma Linda University Hospital in California for surgery. Unfortunately, the cost of travel, surgical fees, and the various other ensuing expenses needed to stay in the area as she recovers have resulted in the enormous cost of US$926,000. In order to save little Haruka, her parents have asked for support.

I know everyone gets asked for hand outs for a million and one chartable causes these days but anything you can spare to save this little girls life is whole heartedly appreciated. If you cannot financially offer support please consider spreading word of Haruka's cause.

You may find donation details in English at this page. A note from Haruka's parents translated to English can be found here and the original Japanese site may be found here.

              Thanks for your time.

I just ate a Naga Jolokia chilli pepper with no liquid assistance for 10 minutes either side of eating it. At least I was assured thatit was said chilli. This is part of a yearly challenge at work. The supplier of said chilli was not pleased at me eating it and not dying. I'm not sure that there is anything else they can throw at me now, apart from petrol. I feel quite good actually, my head is very clear at least. Thought I'd tell you guys like.

Entertain me someone. We've got nothing to do for an hour as they're doing some kind if IT thing. I'm quite partial to tales of other people's misfortune, providing it isn't too misfortunate.
