I don't wanna see a Rampage vs Machida rematch - It was such a farce.

Aussie George (can't remember his awkward surname) was quite impressive.
His fights are always full on and he's seems to have stepped up from the ultimate fighter days.

First two rounds nothing much happened, third round Machida clearly won. Kind of karmic in a way seeing how he was gifted the worst decision in MMA history.

Nice to see BJ flatten Hughes in 21 seconds. Puts him in a bit of a weird spot though. He?s lost twice to the welterweight and lightweight champs, and in both cases he actually beat them first time round but lost due to poor judging - I?m sensing a theme. Can?t see him being motivated to fight either for a third time.

Yes, it?s beyond a joke. Everything in MMA has evolved except for the scoring system/judging which is a huge hindrance. Sick of seeing obvious winners lose decisions and fighters like Jon Fitch, Gray ?the Blanket? Maynard pick up wins by just laying on top, not furthering they're position.

Having looked the real deal Machida is really looking quite average in his last view outings, he does so little, i think his conditioning looks suspect as after a minor flurry he is always open mouthed and gassed. Agree he was due a howler though after that fight he got he while ago, thought he would learn to do a bit more as you can't keep squeaking decisions out that close.

With such a technical sport with so many facets scoring will always be controversial, does a punch count more than exerting superior position on the ground for 30s ?

Agree though that the boring fighters who shoot for a takedown then sit on somebody for 3 rounds will kill the popularity as UFC isn't built on such fare, all part of the growing pains of such a young sport.

Machida did nothing of note for the first 2 rounds and so deserved to lose in my opinion. Glad to see Rampage win. The last few UFC's have been pretty disappointing I feel.

Fights are scored on effective striking, grappling and control, so if you’re losing the standup you can still win 2 of 3 with octagon control and grappling. Good example would be Rashad vs Thiago Silva a few UFC‘s ago, where Rashad nearly got knocked out, didn’t attempt a single submission, and won 29-28 on takedowns.

Definitely time for Linland to call it a day. This is the third time I’ve seen him unconscious for a prolonged period of time. Same possibly for Scott Smith. The guys been in some incredible wars and it looks like it’s starting to take its toll - he’ll always be remembered for this amazing comeback KO.

As much as I would have liked Koscheck to have won, GSP just made him look like an amateur.

Anderson would beat GSP silly.

That fight will never happen though. GSP has to fight Jake Shields next (who?s on a 16 fight win streak) and after that they?ll probably do a Jon Fitch rematch, by which time Anderson will be nearly 37 - after the Vitor fight I think he?ll retire.

whilst I don't doubt his technical quality and ability GSPs style leaves me totally cold, he switched from a takedown and sit on somebody fighter to a jabbing boxer this time, nulified his opponent completely but just not that exciting.

I know people don't have a responsibility to get hit in the face for my amusement but likewise just cos they keep winning doesn't mean I have to like them.

The fans will always go for a warrior over a chess player and GSP is too much of the latter.

Reckon he's too small to move up to middleweight, whilst he looks pretty ripped at welter its a lot of weight to add and his strength/power will be diminished further against naturally bigger men.
