I've found the American MXC version to be better, actually...

No way! That's wrong on so many levels.

I've watched an episode of the Japanese original on youtube and it's all very odd. FactRush:

- It was an hour long.
- The 100 contestants each had to record a segment of footage for the camera, presumably a message to friends and family before taking on the Count.
- Not every contestant did every game. After the first game, groups were picked (or volunteers offered) to do various games. A Final Showdown contestant may have done as few as 3 games.
- Some contestants were put through for style points, i.e., their attempt at a game, though unsuccessful, was entertaining enough to warrant their inclusion in another game.
- Clive James was in an episode.
