Something that I'm finding annoying about work is that somebody is coming to work with bad symptoms and insists it's fine because (they say) they've taken a lateral flow test and it has come back negative. I'm not convinced, purely on the basis that this person has a weird obsession with coming to work no matter what the circumstances, refused outright to work from home at any stage of this and instead comes here by long bus ride from another town (so more chance of exposure). Same person is also quite lax about mask wearing and repeatedly has to be told to keep their distance from people. I think it's doubtful they've taken a test and I think they'd come into work regardless of the results as they've always loudly said that they think this is a load of fuss about nothing. Same person used to come into work with bad flu symptoms and end up giving it to everyone because "I don't want to be at home on my own".

I have to go in once a week at the moment and every time I'm there they are coughing and sneezing all day in our office where the windows can't be opened due to building design. I have all my vaccinations and don't have any lung problems or anything like that, but I currently live with my retired parents most of the week and it terrifies me that I'm going to spread it to them.

****'em all off. That's what I say. These are the people that are not helping contain the virus. Sure, I fully understand that certain individuals can't be vaccinated due to health risks but for the majority of us, there is no side effects as long as we aren't taking the Chinese made crap, which none of us in first world countries are doing.

Phew, thought for a minute you weren't going to get in a dig at China. I take it you've stopped buying anything and everything in protest?

Colleague positive this morning, two kids in different classes were positive on monday. Good grief.

Last day of taking lateral flow tests for 7-10 days in a row. We take 2x a week but every time we have someone we have been near at work test positive we have had to take them continually from a week to 10 days. Had a fair few off since New year's so everyone had to take tests for a week.

Still very short on staff, now having to work tomorrow for our monthly Saturday work day (my next one wasn't due til March). Thought this would be my first full week of the year, ended up being 6 days!

My knee packed in on Wednesday walking to the car. I had this happen in October/November 2021 but could get no GP appointment for weeks so just allowed it to stop hurting with time and was left with a loud crunchy click whenever I go up the stairs. After Wednesday's pain I spent nearly 40 mins on hold to get through my GP to get an appointment for next week. Pain has since gone but worried about knee's future and a lots of walking about to happen for our delayed honeymoon. Boss said I might not be able to go to appointment even though she wants me to go as I'm one of the only 'old' qualified nurses working right now!!!

My digs are at the Chinese government, not the people of China. they are probably suffering more than anyone.

I figured, but your posts rarely read that way.

Positive kids in all my classes now (one each so far that I know), one teacher in my department positive on Friday, another's kid positive on Friday too. I may just start masking at home just in case.

3 of our dentists/ specialists are off with Covid right now at our dental practice.

In all seriousness amid the memes about it, it does feel like dodging bullets avoiding getting it right now.

Kids are going maskless in school from monday, it was just announced. Then everyone else from March 1st.
And this time the education minister (super christian pro-lifer) has told school boards that they don't have the power to get kids to mask up. After the government left it up to the school boards to decide what to do last September.

                  ****ing Alberta eh!

Third shot done. Noticed that the Swiss government quietly lowered the validity of the certificate from 12 to 9 months.

Switzerland will lift almost every restriction tomorrow, with the few remaining probably scrapped at the end of April.
Restrictions in place are 5 days quarantine for positives and masks in hospitals.

Covid is ripping through the nursery where my daughters go.

All management are off I'll, the pre-school room (the one my 4 year old is) has closed to allow the nursery to keep the rooms for younger children open.

                        It's bonkers!

I'm still wearing a mask but the amount of people doing the same that I see on a daily basis is getting less and less...

I’m still wearing a mask out but the ratio in the supermarkets i go to has dropped to 1/3 wearing, everyone else not.

Just had a text to get a 4th booster as well.

I’m in a hotel restaurant at the moment and was the only person out of about 50 with a mask.

You don't need to wear one in a hospitality setting.

It just goes to show that everyone wears one in shop just to look like a nice person.

                                ...

I'm very happy to say that the vast majority of the kids I teach are still wearing them, as they understand the reasons why. Even though many of them and their families have had covid already.

Also I don't know how much coverage this horse**** in Ottawa is getting over in the UK, but those US funded ***** just need putting down.

                                FREEDUMB!!
